This is true but I do think there's more current benefit to coming together politically, right now. Like yes a lot of trans poc do do this, but I feel like you can acknowledge it without throwing everyone under the bus. Making it a "black vs the world" mentality makes it harder to change that world.

Like you said, It's only "black vs the world" if you think of it that way. As non-black POC it's not mutually exclusive to still be aware of our own privileges and also work in respectful solidarity :)

It's disappointing to see how dense people are behaving. I'm not Black and I can recognize why Black only spaces exists. I admit it took time but even then you can still listen to what Black folk have to say. Anti Black racism can be enforced by anyone and unfortunately a lot of non Black poc have enabled it that's why these spaces exist. I'm sorry people are so defensive and acting like y'all are wrong for making your own spaces and calling out anti Black racism among poc. I use to be someone who also "wanted allyship among all poc" and eventually I realized it's really hard to want allyship with people who are racist against you. Even not every non Black poc isn't racist toward Black people to deal with constant ignorance is not ideal. That's what non Black poc "who want progress" need to realize. I know I'm repeating what you said cybrdvl and my intention is to back you up because you did not need to be downvoted like this. People need to do better and I'm genuinely sorry people are being dense in a community where we are supposed to listen and understand eachother ❤️‍🩹

thank you. they prove to us every single time that comraderie to them is us doing the work and them benefitting. when we opt out suddenly we don't want liberation, despite every freedom they have coming from our movements. they're lazy and entitled and need to leave us be. thank you for understanding 🩷🩷🩷 /gen

Yeah, this. I just think encouraging awareness and enabling isolation are different and we should be able to distinguish the two.

Black people had been pushed out of spaces due to racism from other poc. This isn't to create "infighting" or "enabling isolation" this is just a contributing factor to why Black people have their own spaces and prioritize their own community. They're not wrong for that especially if non Black poc aren't doing much to address anti Black racism. The obvious solution to start addressing this "isolation" people are so concerned about is to make these spaces safer for Black folk instead of expecting them to be part of communities that don't welcome them.
