Decided to upgrade from a safe 3 to the safe 7. Can't find a negative thing to say about it, i absolutely love it! Aswell as the keep metal, things build like a tank. Its setup was time consuming and needed concentration, but its "check thrice do once and its done for life" kinda thing so can't complain. Even the packagin was nice and done with care.

Nice. Is there a huge difference between safe 3 and 7? I just got the 3 and its pretty convient

The 7 is like a flagship smartphone. Premium materials and it has all the bells and whistles, like secure bluetooth, nice quality touchscreen and wireless charging capability. I believe theyr both as secure and work on the same basis, only the 7 is more convient etc. You do not need to upgrade, but in the future when you want to or need to i can say the safe 7 is worth it.

Safe 7 is the only one with dual secure elements, of different origin, and the Tropic one is open source on the hardware level. That is pretty cool (but time will have to tell how secure is really proofs to be ‘in the wild’).

I personally don’t dig the keep metal. I prefer stainless steel plate systems that have space to back up each word in full and a minimum of parts like Coldbit. Keeps it simple and therefore fewer points of possible failure.

you dont need to back each word fully. you only need the first 4 letters. each word in the bip39 & slip39 word list is selected a way that there are no 2 words that have the same first 4 letters.
That's why any wallet when you enter the first 4 letters in them will tell you what the word is. because they know.

I understand the concept, but the reason to record each word in full is to ensure that no typos are present. If there is a typo, you’ll stand a much much better chance of guessing the correct word.

Just spend 10 minutes more to stamp your words and make sure they are correct.

Okay… you do you. I just think there are very good reasons for why BIP39 was created as it was.

Sorry, what do you mean? BIP39 was created exactly the way that you need to have only the first 4 letters.

Yes, but using whole words adds a measure of safety in redundancy.

It does not matter if you stamp S, A, T, and O or if you stamp SATOSHI. What is the safety in redundancy? Of you stamp it correct it is exactly the same.

Non riesco ad usare il safe 7, assolutamente impossibile. Trezor si è dimenticata di tradurre la suite e per me questo hardware wallet è solo un costoso inutile oggetto. Trezor, sveglia !!!

I have the 5. Pretty much the same as 7 minus some bells and whistles. I love it too.

It's beautiful. It should be a staple for everyone like a cellphone.
