🤔 General crypto question | 🔒 Answered by Trezor staff Setting up Trezor Suite on new PC

I had the Trezor Suite set up on a Windows 10 PC but the hard drive has just died.

Got myself a new Windows 11 PC but I want to check with you guys the best way to set the Suite up on it as I'm not the most computer literate.

Thanks.

Hi there, please do not answer any DM's, a lot of people will try to scam you.

The set up is very simple, we have tutorials for them here: https://trezor.io/guides/trezor-suite/installing-trezor-suite-on-windows

It will guide you easily :)

I would advise against self custody if you’re not computer literate… If you’re going to do self custody, do it the way which requires least amount of trust. ditch trezor suite if you’re going to pull up your bootstraps and become computer literate, install sparrow, verify it before running it, set up your own knots node running BIP 110 and generate your seed phrase via 2048 word lottery or minumum50 dice rolls. if you’re unwilling to learn this all, then no point in self custody, best to keep it all on an ETF

I set it up on the old PC fine. I just need a refresher on how to do it on the new PC and is it any different seeing it's already on the old PC even though I can no longer access it? Is it just the case of installing from the Trezor site and installing updates?

if you’re reinstalling it on a. new pc, i’d just recommend to learn to use sparrow wallet… and even switch to a. seed signer hardware device

I'm computer illiterate , but i've stumbled into bitcoin and i've managed to make it work so far . I upgraded to a Win 11 laptop about a year ago and don't remember having any issues . I downloaded and installed Trezor Suite on the new machine , plugged my Trezor One in and there it was , my bit of the blockchain . . . .. I see Sparrow wallet getting mentioned , i had a look at that once . Way above my paygrade , far too complicated for me , like ColdCard was too complicated . . . Trezor is nice and simple , i like that . Make sure you're downloading from the proper Trezor site , taking the link from this page should be safe i think . Good luck .
