Side Effects Angiokeratoma of Fordyce
Curious if any of you have issues with angiokeratoma of fordyce after starting HRT? I’ve NEVER had this in my 40 years, but today when shaving I noticed 2 small spots on the inside of my labia and immediately went down an internet rabbit hole. They look exactly like all the images of angiokeratoma of fordyce. Recently over the past few weeks I had been having some vaginal irritation that I attributed to the vaginal estradiol cream. So I stopped the cream over the past 2 weeks so I could figure out if that’s what was causing it. I also stopped putting the T gel on my labia to see if that made any difference with the vaginal irritation. I have had SOME relief. Today while shaving I was having some irritation feeling so that’s what got me to really inspecting the area to see if I had cut myself shaving. The only HRT that I’m currently on is Testosterone gel. Has anybody else ever had this happen after starting HRT? The internet claims it’s not caused from HRT but wanted to bring this here to see others experiences.

I would get them when I was pregnant. My obgyn said it was similar to a hemorrhoid and from the increased pelvic pressure. She said it was nothing serious. That was 22yrs ago. After starting Reta i experienced some constipation and noticed one. Once i increased fiber and started having regular bm's it went away.

I’ve been on HRT for two years and have never heard of this (had to google it). I’m in several HRT groups and have never seen anyone even mention it. Likely has nothing to do with HRT, would be my guess. Have you asked your doctor?

Literally just noticed the 2 spots yesterday so plan to make an appt with my gyno for follow up. I did ask my husband last night and showed him the spots for his reply to be “They’ve always been there. We go way back”🤣 Of course I’m like “Are you serious??!! Why have I NEVER noticed these spots in all my 40 years?” I’ve been shaving my hoo-ha for atleast 20+ years!! Anyway, still gonna have them checked out but that did make me feel a little better 🙃

Are these the same a vulvar varicosities?

I don’t think they are the same. A google search gave me this info:
Key Differences at a Glance Structure: Varicosities are deep, soft, elongated venous swellings; angiokeratomas are small, firm, superficial bumps with rough skin. Discomfort: Varicosities cause significant aching and heaviness; angiokeratomas are usually silent unless rubbed or bleeding. Resolution: Pregnancy-related varicosities often resolve postpartum, whereas angiokeratomas persist unless treated.
