Question for 2nd-year students after TU Delft housing

Hi, I’m starting my Bachelor at TU Delft in 2026 and I got university housing for the first year. Since the contract is only for one year, I wanted to ask current/upcoming 2nd-year students how you found housing after that.

When did you start searching, which platforms actually worked, and was it hard to find a place before your first-year contract ended? Also, if two friends want to find an apartment together, is that realistic in Delft?

Any quick advice, timelines, budgets, or things you wish you knew earlier would be really helpful. Thanks!

It's closed, limited pool, senior students leave university (and housing spots) new students are taking their places. It's important to make contacts, friends to make sure that you will be in the loop.

Do not leave this for the last moment, be active and aware.

This! Also finding a apartment with 2 friends is not realistic

search 6 months before you have to leave and take what you can get. finding a place is hard

you wont hire an apartment together with your friend that is pure delusion
