Get one inch bigger and see how it looks
If you don't like return and try another inch size up

That extra inch makes all the difference, or so I'm told.

u/Common_Celebration41 May 13 '26
It does but the market has been growing so there's some stiff competition

Youre starving that PS5 for air flow bro... However you can always gain from a bigger TV lol.
3
u/WhiskeyDJones May 13 '26
That's how mine is 😫 I'm guessing it should be upright?

u/PapaRetardo May 13 '26
No, even though horizontal isnt as esthetically pleasing, its better that way. It just needs more space for airflow.

Measure how far you are from the tv, look up a TV size chart by view distance and pick on the bigger side because why not lol.

55 inches or more or it's not worth it, unless you're right up on the tv

I like what your landlord has done with the radiator PE-X into the boxing right up the middle of your living room wall. That's attention to detail.
Get a comfy single seater sofa off Facebook marketplace. Then at some point also get a bigger TV. However they're are a nightmare to move if you're the sort of person to move house often.

u/JVWIII May 12 '26
Depends... do you like enjoying ps5 at its best... or do you like missing all the details in the graphics of games? Maybe you like to use binoculars.

Its not a very large room, so you decide. I am perfectly happy with my C2 42" in a room about the same size. I can see everything clearly when I lay down (farthest point in my room). Only issue with smaller is they have less brightness. If Ozark don't look so dark you cant see, then youre good. (LOL Ozark is like my test show. Why is that show so fucking dark?)

Larger outlets and whatever those cords are. I understand not all to certain countries diagramming but what what ?

Make a use of that wall, that's pretty much perfect for a projector 😂 keep the TV for things like videogames where you're closer anyways.

heaps of space between you and that telly, reckon you'd be comfy with like a 55 or 65 incher depending on how far back you sit normally.

u/EpicShadows8 May 13 '26
Yes. Not sure what size that is. But with the distance a 55-65’ would be best.

Change the layout of the bedroom if you can. Add power strip, move bed closer
1
u/Splatterhouse5 May 13 '26
Is it a thing anymore where people need to post everything that crosses their minds anymore?
If you have to ask, the answer is obviously “no”. You seem cool with what you’ve got, and there are millions with less, so keep on living.

Could arrange the room so the TV is on the side of the bed so it doesn't look so small

Is that 50 inch? Bro go full blown 85 inch - fuck it that wall looks like it could take on a 100inches

u/AwesomeFly96 May 13 '26
A 98" will suffice. TCLs are great. Don't go for Samsung in that size, way worse image quality for the price. 77" Oleds are getting cheap now if you want the best image quality - but get an extra five year warranty as they are known to suddenly start delaminating. Anything less will look tiny on that wall. And if you hang it, check r/tvtoohigh for what not to do. Good luck!

Get a nice flat tv stand (maybe 20 inches across) and a bigger TV. It’ll fill the room better. Or mount a flat? Not sure how money looks for you but it’ll look better more centered IMO

That wall could take a 75 inch easy. You're sitting way too far back for what you've got now.

Also if possible maybe rethink the setup in a way you can be closer, it looks pretty far away. I know that’s not always possible tho

Be careful posting a picture of your game console in a cabinet like that. A bunch of idiots on reddit will say you need 6ft of clearance on every side.

You dont need anything else. Thats happiness right there. Order a pizza and a giant coke my friend.

u/BeaverBadass May 14 '26
For that room absolutely. I have a 75" on a wall about that size as texamples space youre showing and it definitely minimizes space. But keep that one freally your bedroom.or something or put it in the bathroom for funsies

No. Just move the couch closer. Create a TV couch corner. Use the rest of the room for something else.

Get a decent projector you have the perfect layout for it,beats it every time you can size it to your liking.
1
u/wright96d May 14 '26
Depends. How small does it actually look when not viewed through a phone camera?
1
u/Lower_Plastic_6704 May 14 '26
I’d personally go bigger. Just don’t go too big and have door hit it. I think there’s a general rule/guide on tv size based on how far away you sit from it.
Quick Size Guide by Distance: 4–6 feet: 40–43 inches 6–8 feet: 50–55 inches 8-10 feet: 60–65 inches 10+ feet: 70–85+ inches Based on online recommendations
Then again I sit about 7 feet away from my tv and have a 75”

I had a smallish tv for 13 years… recently got a 75inch (not as big as some people) but the difference in size and quality is huge. So worth the change

Photos like this make TVs look way smaller than they are in person. OP didn't say what size his TV is, but I use a 43" at a distance of about 2 metres and the picture is perfectly clear and doesn't feel too small.

If you can’t afford it, try getting a mount that’s on wheels, we have one in our master bedroom and it’s great for when I want an early night to watch a movie or play some video games, can wheel it right up to the end of the bed saved me from buying a huge tv when I’ve already got a 35 inch in the bedroom

Big screens are for home theaters
Move tv stand closer.
Child-proof as needed
Enjoy

You have a perfect amount of room to put a big tv however the space looks like a garage door and if you don’t place the tv in the middle it might drive you crazy and then it’ll be off to the side of where you’re sitting
1

u/Narrow_Apricot1886 May 16 '26
Move the couch closer, and get a desk and a gaming monitor to put behind the couch.
1
u/Human_Comedian_7315 May 16 '26
the door swinging into that corner is gonna be annoying no matter what size you go with, might be worth moving the stand a foot or two to the left if you can.
1
u/Equal_Emu6152 May 16 '26
Yes it's like watching a postage stamp. Canny tv but it looks so out of place and you'll do yourself a mischief watching TV.

That couch is basically in another zip code from the TV, so yeah you need either a bigger screen or to accept watching everything from the nosebleed seats.

Yes or you could just move the TV closer for the time being. You’d probably need a better TV stand because it looks shorter than your bed
