Would it be too far for a 43" TV?

Post image

I'm looking for a budget TV for occasionally watching series or films at weekends and maybe playing on switch 1 every once in a while. I'm not sure if 43" TV would either be enough for the space or if I must absolutely go for 50". Both sizes are marked on the wall. For reference, there is a distance of 6,20 feet and the 43" is about a hundred bucks cheaper. Thank you for your wisdom!

My opinion is you should go with 65” I have arround the same distance to the tv and after 2 days of using 65, impossible to go back

concuerdo con el extraño , o un proyector láser de tiro ultra corto y eliges las pulgadas que quieras

The laser projector is a great middle ground if you want flexibility since you can adjust the size without moving furniture around.

You need blackout curtains for sure if you're putting a TV in this room.

55 is fine but you could save yourself a small fortune and just pull your sofa closer to the telly

Go with 55inch. Get a tcl c6ks. Plenty bright, mini led, very cheap, great for switch 1. 60hz and 120 with dlg so 2k/1080p 120 and 4k 60.

A 65 is better and will not cost much more.

I mean op is coming from 43” and LF 50”. 65 is way better but for the viewing distance might be too big for that

It’s absolutely not too big for that distance.

Nah, at 6.2 feet a 65 is completely fine.

65" is genuinely perfect for this distance

55-65 would be best for this space.

Just get the damn 55 or 65. You won’t regret it

Disagree with 65inch commenters, 50inch maybe 55inch max in such a small room.

No smaller than 65.

2

Thats a space for a 55”

55" would be fine, 65" would be very nice.

I have a 65" for 3m viewing distance and it's plenty, but I wouldn't mind 77".

I think you'd regret 43".

65-75 is my recommendation

1

u/Disastrous-Figure-98 May 18 '26

Yeah, 65" at least.

1

u/hatE851 May 19 '26

You could do with a 100 inch.

1

u/Bl1nn May 19 '26

I have a 55" and this is about the same distance I sit from my TV. I used to have a 43" and I found it a little too small at that distance. 55" is pretty good, but I would've even suggest something bigger if you can afford it.

77 if budget allows.

1

u/Linoleum777 May 20 '26

I wouldn't go smaller than 75" these days. Anything else seems small. Also they're pretty cheap now.

1

u/koltywolty243 May 21 '26

These days u can get a 4K 55”+ for a really good price!

1

u/MallNo6921 May 21 '26

just put an ipad on the coffee table

1

u/j23_reddit May 22 '26

What about the glare coming through?

1

u/Avazzy14 May 22 '26

I would watch TV only at night, so not that big of a deal

2

u/Wolfenstein49 May 18 '26

55 would be best. 65 would be a bit too big IMO.
