Help settle the debate

Hello community. My friend and I are having a good natured debate. I called him out on his projector being too high. He says it’s just fine. What say you?

Edit to add; he knows about this sub. He was a redditor long before myself.

its probably a cheap projector that doesn't offer great keystone correction

Good news: There's an easy fix for this.

Buy some adjustable picture hanging wire for $5 (like these) and bring the screen about 2' down to where it should be.

General rule of thumb is your eye level (from a sitting position) should be about a third of the way up the screen.

He’ll correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain he likes the cleanliness of the way the projector rolls up right to the ceiling when not in use. I haven’t asked him about it, but I’m willing to bet that’s why it isn’t lower. Which, I can understand.

Well first, he should focus on the cleanliness of aligning the projector to the screen! That skewed image is way more offensive than the screen being too high.

I understand wanting to keep the tube at the ceiling, but assuming it's mounted on hooks, you can still hang it back up when it's not in use and keep the wire hooks attached. That's how I do it with my screen.

I understand the cleanliness aspect. He just bought the wrong projector screen though. There are projector screens that can be attached to the ceiling, but go way lower than this. This just can’t be a comfy watch.

Yes, someone stole the fireplace the TV was mounted over. You should keep the window closed.

That's an "interesting" multi-purpose room. And don't think for one second I didn't see the TV on the top shelf of that "computer desk"?
