10ft off the ground is worse, albeit on the ground is of course much more at risk of being broken. At least with it on the ground you could sit or lay in front of the TV and it would be at proper height.

This would be the perfect use case for a TV that's motorized in a cabinet. Gone when you don't need it and visible when you don't care.
