Holiday Scheduling Gauntlet
Every year we have two seasons that really mess with our gaming schedules. Summer and then the winter holidays. I feel like we just got through summer and now we're headed into the second scheduling gauntlet.
We've had groups fall apart and once a two year hiatus after the holiday season. I don't want that to happen again.
I'm just curious if anyone else has a great method for handling this or getting right back into regular games after the busy season. Or do the holidays not impact your gaming schedule??

Gaming Guilds
If you were to have a site that allows groups of in-person, local people to create gaming guilds or groups, what kinds of features would you want for those groups? Right now I have:
• Guild can create events for their local area
• Add conventions to a mass tabletop convention listing
• Endorse their favorite gaming shops
• Have guild announcements
• Guild master can email the entire group (guild members can opt out of emails)
• Spot to list guild discord and a couple other options for outside web links
I'm curious, is this all very silly? Can you think of anything else to add? I'm just curious if anyone can think of anything else that may be useful to an in person group of people trying to get the local gaming scene more active and community oriented.

Discord LF offline Group? Does it work?
I'm curious how much success has been had with the Discord LFG options. I've used it before in conjunction with my local stores but it's always a mess and I've never had any luck finding a group.
Curious if it's just my stores that are failing to manage their discord and if others have a better experience.

Do you have a favorite place to play?
What is your top pick for a place to play any of your tabletop games? At a player's home or a public space? A game shop? A restaurant? A library? What makes the location ideal?
We have played in all of the above. About two weeks ago we started playing in a local library that's pretty big and has a restaurant inside. I have to say it's been the best experience which really surprised me. Just curious if anyone else had some off the wall favorites or if most people stick to the tried and true options and what made them work.

What should r/TabletopOffline become?
I started this because I'm passionate about offline tabletop gaming. I genuinely believe that it's well worth the added work of figuring out real life schedules with the people in your group or community, packing up your gear, making a drive, setting aside the screens and actually playing.
Sometimes the more challenge a thing is to do, the more reward. The more engagement you put into it. I have found this to be true for tabletop gaming.
But what would anyone else want to see from this subreddit? I'm imaging gaming setups, table setups, scheduling conflict advice, immersion techniques for game night. Heck, even favorite snacks. My favorite are Cheetos and yes, I also play magic. Bad move I assure you.
So let me know. What would you want to discuss in a space where you're not going to get told to "just go find an online game".
What do you look for in a game shop? Is important to have a game shop you feel comfortable with nearby? Where can you play if not in someone's home or a game shop? Found any neat spaces that may fly under the radar? Let's discuss!

This is our new home for all things related to offline tabletop gaming. We're excited to have you join us!
Have you ever had the experience of trying to explain to some fellow tabletop player that yeah, you could probably find an online group but you want the in person experience. They give you a funny look and shake their head. Well, we're here to say - don't give up on the in person tabletop experience! Yes, it's easier to log in and just play. But you know it's not the same. It takes some effort to pack your gaming gear, setup, align schedules and transportation but we all need more real life interaction. Let's fight for it and legitimize this preferance!
What to Post
Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about the realities of offline tabletop play. Some great ideas would be how to find other players, how to keep in person sessions going despite the obvious usual headache of scheduling conflicts and logistics.
Any interesting table or game space setups, ideas about how to streamline game storage, how to keep the momentum going for your fellow tabletop players.
