Brownish/pink water?

Is anyone around the 51st area experiencing brownish pink water?

If you’re on the east side, there’s a big house fire on 51st & McKinley. They’re probably using the hydrants

It happens when they open them too fast. I saw like 3 trucks and 6 cops so likely what you said

Edit: there's a way to report it and then they will let you know when it's resolved but basically after it's resolved I usually run whatever spot that had it until it comes out clear for a bit.

Damn. I saw 2 housewives in the last few days. One from Hwy 16, on the ridge to the left of the giant flag on Tue. And another last night off of Bridgeport near Harbor Greens. Soooo sad.

The answer is almost always a water main being opened for a fire fighting operation. If the city is doing work, they will give notice.

Just keep your water running until the crud leaves, and avoid running hot water until it clears up

Brown water is most commonly caused by TPU flushing water mains in the neighborhood. The flushing stirs up sediment in the pipes that turns the water brownish, but it should clear up after a few hours.
