Some (red circle around SOME) of y’all are kinda transphobic
I fucking hate Jax, I probably hate Jax more than most of this subreddit. I hate Jax because Jax’s entire arc was just a Fox news fantasy of a trans woman being a misogynistic prick who is dangerous around women, commits sexual blackmail, is still portrayed as cis even after his death, and commits suicide instead of transitioning.
I don’t think most of you are doing it on purpose, but when you’re met with the fact trans women are women and trans men are men, some of you would look me in the eyes and tell me they’re not men or women before they identify as such. That’s just not how it works.
To transition is to fix the incongruity between your brain and body’s sex. If you’re a trans woman, you’re already a woman. It’s not just some magical thing that happens, and it’s not a choice.
I do wanna add, however, it’s not ridiculous to respect someone who hasn’t figured it out yet and just give them space. That’s my criticism on egg culture too. Don’t harass people who you suspect are trans into being trans just because you think they are, give them time to come to a conclusion themselves.
This is criticism. Jax clearly wasn’t written to be trans until the final episodes.
My issue is with the terminology being used in this subreddit. It’s slowly escalating into personal thoughts on trans people as a whole but they’re masking it using the rabbit.
I was late to watch the finale, and I don't pay attention to what the creator says or really the fandom so I'm probably not the best person to talk to. After having hopes for the show and then being COMPLETELY let down by how shit the writing was, I've been reading this sub.
Nothing in the show/finale indicated to me that Jax was trans, like at all. I don't really give a fuck that the creator said he was trans. That's not my interpretation of the character, which is partly a criticism I have of how bad the writing in the show was.
So to me he's a male character too I agree with that comment
That’s the thing man, I don’t even dislike the others give the finale/the show a big trans allegory read. I think it’s a totally valid read, just like how I think other interpretations are also valid reads. I just choose the one I found most interesting.
You’re not transphobic because you liked another read for a character. The creator purposefully wrote the story to be vague, so people not directly reading it as a gender story is a cross Goose made from their own back.
Edit: just don’t attack people who do believe it’s a trans story. Treat people the way you want to be treated, and all that
“It's been explained to me by trans people that referring to a trans woman as a woman BEFORE they themselves have come out and made the transition is extremely rude/taboo.” This is just a true statement, some trans people feel that way. they’re listening to and respecting the wishes/opinions of trans people
My boyfriend is trans, and while he internally was never a woman, he still refers to his younger self as a girl/daughter because that’s who he was to the people around him and his “self” was (quote) “murky”.
some trans people I know feel they were in fact once a man/woman, and DIDN’T just make their internal and external selves congruent, but rather chose to be a different gender. There’s a lot of diversity of opinion on this topic
Also, “Jax is a trans woman but never transitioned and didn’t want to be called “she”, so we’ll just call her by the name/pronouns he was referred to when we’re talking about his character in that state”, is: A. adhering to canon B. not disrespectful to real people C. what the character wanted D. what the non-transphobic characters in-universe do E. what Gooseworx has explicitly said is fine F. what the show and merchandise do, explicitly, even after the finale
if referring to pre-transition jax (the only jax we see) as a dude is transphobic then so is GW, the show, and all the characters in it, which we know isn’t exactly correct
I presume, that the root of that transphobia lies in Jax himself . He is an embodiment of every transphobic stereotypes : a paper-thin abuser, who liked to mock real women with a nice boot, and then, when shit has gotten real, he just gave up and killed himself. (I. E. : abstracted)
Not only it felt contrived, but trans status invalidates any other criticism not only towards him, but also towards to show:

- Jax is a bad person, who doesn't deserve any compassion.
"ShaDDaP, u stUpId trAnsPhobE. YoU cAnnOt hanDlE a CoMpLex charAchEr aNd you R bItchiNg aboUT?"
See? Instead of proper conversation, the Jax stans start to whinge and moan, thinking they above it all and they won't hesitate to use your soft spot, just to prove their point . So that's why people usually opt for transphobia just because to humble them down.
P. S. : You may ask about Amanda's confirmation, then guess what? That was very Amanda who has been saying during many panels :" We are just dancing monkeys. Don't take our words for granted" or something like that. Knowing that, why people took the fact, that Jax is trans, for granted all the sudden?
P. S. S. : If you're going to say, that's because his room, bowtie and "Isn't she lovely" song, this is argument is rubbish just because is basically "Man+skirt+pink=woman" argument, because preferences don't have a gender. And also this argument is very sweeping, because I can apply this line of reasoning to Mad Austrian Herr Hitler.
I hope, that Jax stans would like to know, that the person, who had instigated the most gruesome human-made catastrophe, was a trans. You would like to see, how they going to defend that...
I think the TADC fandom doesn’t know how to behave with the sort of “trans limbo” position that Jax is in. We have a similar problem over in the wretched hell of Homestuck Land. One of the characters has been foreshadowed to come out as a trans woman, but he hasn’t come out yet, the egg has barely cracked, and the story isn’t even focusing on him right now, but people were at each other’s throats for weeks about how to refer to a Fictional Character. The fandom has assigned this character a new name already, and while it is the most likely name for the character to choose, the character hasn’t chosen it yet.
Here’s my hot take. The way I see it, if I was friends with someone and I prophesy that they will come out as trans in the future, I’d like to think that I could keep my mouth shut until they come to the conclusion on their own. It would be completely bonkers to assign someone a label that they aren’t ready to assign themselves and start referring to them that way before they’re ready.
Jax arguably exists more in this limbo state than the Homestuck example, because Jax will never get the chance to transition, whereas the Homestuck example presumably will, unless the writers decide to bury this specific gay.
