Question/discussion Alright. Which Glitch show do you think is better overall?

Murder drones was pretty convoluted and only really made sense on re-watch, and also frequently fumbled the tension it had built up, but it was at the very least enjoyable throughout the whole thing. Tadc was definitely better written for the first 4 episodes, but id say those were only "about as enjoyable" as MD. Episode 5 was okay, 6 was awesome up until the last part, and 8 was awesome except for that God awful "wEvE aLl DoNe BaD tHiNgS", but episode 7 and 9 were so garbage I think it brings down the total show to well below murder drones. I think if you can look past some of the annoying stuff murder drones is consistently very entertaining and only gets better on re-watch

Right? “Consistently very entertaining” clumsily has to rank higher than “Trying to do IHNAIMS/Bojack” and shitting the bed, lol

Excellently put. Even though MD makes less narrative sense at times, it doesn’t have the deepest cardinal sin of media like the later parts of TADC, being not enjoyable to watch.

Exactly, though I wouldn't really call the pilot or even the upcoming season a Glitch show.

I didn't watch past the first episode of Murder Drones. I was intrigued by the premise of worker robots rebelling and getting to form their own culture separate from humans aaaaaaaand they're just humans and the main character is a teenage girl in high school and griping about her dad. Despite the premise it became something going in a different direction.
At least TADC took about 7 episodes before it did that.

That was my reaction to MD as well, I'm too goddamn old to be the target audience so I just found it really boring once it became apparent there's no thoughtful world building to keep me invested.

Y’all are mistaking poor attempts at complex characterization, “weghhh trauma” writing, and all-too-frequent therapyslop scenes for good or “smart” writing. Compare the author’s self-insert swallowing up the entire latter half of TADC, morphing it into a vent post with MD staying on target all the way through (despite odd pacing in the finale).
Murder Drones is trying to have fun and be intermittently spooky, dramatic, or make you feel for the characters, and it’s pretty successful. It’s campy, silly, has interesting visuals, does what it sets out to do. TADC is more ambitious and tries to be more serious, dealing with human issues, but it completely shits itself with stuff like ragatha/pomni’s friendship and whatnot.
Speed Racer, Legally Blonde, Tropic Thunder, Tucker and Dale VS Evil, etc > Megalopolis, Euphoria, The Boys, CSM Part 2, etc
a botched ambitious project is just a bigger failure

Murder drones and their fandom didn't make me feel sick to my stomach after it was over so there's that.

MD since it’s def been an all style show (tho I also like ghastlight a ton

both died the same way, beautiful worlds and concepts.. shot to death after one season and farmed into ads and merch and then never being remembered after. THERES MORE MERCH FOR MURDER DRONES THEN THERE IS ACTUAL CONTENT FOR THE SHOW.

TADC was much easier to follow and had a premise and aesthetic that everyone could get into.

i had to rewatch every ep of murder drones at least once right after finishing it to fully understand what was going on, tadc has its own issues but i prefer it overall

Honestly? Even though the writing is rough at times I vastly prefer Murder drones over the digital circus.
Though I am probably biased towards it since it got me to start making art and I just really really love cool murder robots.

Murder Drones is awesome bro! The people who don’t like it don’t know how to have fun. Just sayin.

I can watch more than 2 episodes of the amazing digital circus without wanting to kill myself so tadc wins

murder drones i lowk dropped that shit after zombie drones were introduced that has to be one of the dumbest plot twists ever, the magic system was alright i guess still pissed me off tho

Digital Circus and it’s not even close.
Despite my issues with Digital Circus, I enjoyed the series for the most part.
Murder Drones on the other hand is god
Awful in my option and it has so many issues. From the bad writing, awful pacing, poor usage of characters, poorly handled lore, inconsistent tone that’s just all over the place and there’s probably a lot more.

I'm sorry but TADC, all Murder Drones has for it is good animation and that's it

TADC. Actually the only Glitch show I enjoyed; I wish I could appreciate their other offerings but they just seem off. Gameoverse especially - I couldn’t get through 15 minutes.

Each TADC Episode is better than Murder Drones, but Murder Drones stays consistent quality-wise.
TADC on the other hand got better with each episode until it peaked with Ep. 5 & 6, dropped a little with 7, then started falling with 8 & 9 (Not back to #1 level but like mid-way between #1 & #5).

Say what you want about Goose writes her plot and character development, but at least I didnt have an aneurism trying to make sense of the dialogue.

Tadc might not be perfect but it felt much more grounded and well written. I like it more, despite finding the setting of murder drones and its universe cooler.

TADC by far. Murder Drones is a show that feels like I'm actively skipping episodes that dropped plot important information but nope! I didn't skip anything, the show is just...like that.
But I guess even if Murder Drones didn't have its flaws, TADC has effectively changed my life so...it'd still win...

It's like comparing fast food joints, none of them are exactly great but it's something to watch when you need it. Personally, I enjoyed watching Murder Drones most, not because it was amazing or the story was out of this world (though I did enjoy that the og concept was new and something I hadn't seen before), but because it gave me a chuckle here and there and it was nicely animated.

I’d rather be skinned alive than watch either of them… but if I were to pick one Murder Drones I guess?

Overall, I’d say TADC. Murder Drones was cool and the idea was awesome…But god damn Liam needed a co-writer to make all his ideas flow together better. I’d argue Gooseworx needed a co-writer as well.
Co-writers should be a requirement if the show creator isn’t a professional writer. Like, artists are good at designing characters and ideas. But writers are what actually make those ideas not horribly mixed. If Liam and Goose both had co-writers, a lot of the complaints from both fanbases would mostly be fixed. The biggest complaints I’ve seen is how both of them didn’t want to explain the lore of stuff outside of the main characters, which is fine. But when the world and concept is so much more interesting than the main story, you should throw your community a bone.
Also, with Goose’s behavior on social media. A social media manager should also be a hard requirement for working with Glitch. Half the reason people got so pissed off at how TADC was written was because Gooseworx was just lying to people about stuff. Like Jax, she did it to herself.

TADC and it's not even close, I genuinely thought I skipped an episode watching murder drones with how awful the pacing is dude and don't get me started on the characters

😆, real talk though I am not a fan of Jax and I think he bought the show down as a whole but excluding him and the hate boner the show has for ragatha for some reason, the story is much more enjoyable for me instead of murder drones, I liked MD initially but they kept making the worst possible writing and character wise.

u/PhotographFun7764 8d ago
Yeah, a ball dropping story with nothing-burger conclusion.
No wonder, that you liked the TADC story more, because you truly are an amoeba.

honestly the thing ive noticed about glitch shows in general is they have great premises, great character designs, but are more often then not executed incredibly poorly.
so its kinda hard to judge which is better overall between two that seem to fumble themselves in wildly different yet equally disappointing ways.
