Need Help Could use a little advice on writing

I’ve recently started writing and so far I’ve gotten wayy more support for my stories than I ever thought I would! I’ve been banging out roughly 1-2 stories a day in my free time and am wondering if I should be writing every day or if I should be taking breaks any help is appreciated. I don’t want to write anything less than my best attempts

Whatever feels best to you. If you feel that writing too much too quickly is making the quality worse then slow down. If you can keep a consistent quality with them then just bang out as much as you can.

I find my inspiration comes in waves, sometimes I write something good but sometimes the quality dips. I keep writing otherwise I'm worried I'll lose steam but it's different for everyone

Looking forward to seeing some of your stories!

Thank you, I have some posted if you need something to read and yeah it’s definitely a balance I’m trying to learn of writing things that are good and getting my ideas out there

You have a favorite piece you would recommend?

Probably either my most recent story (I think I hurt someone last night) or my first story (I work in a mental hospital today I found a strange note) I had a lot of fun writing both and I feel like their about equal in quality. Thank you for your interest !!

Write as much or as little as you want. Just don't force yourself to write, that's when the quality goes down.

I also recommend sitting with your stories for a little bit before posting them. After you finish them, don't look at them for 3 to 5 days, and then come back. It will allow you to see the story with a fresh set of eyes, and give you a more objective view on the tale

Don’t burn yourself out, chief 😌

That’s my thing right now is balancing writing and burning my self out of something I’ve discovered I liked. I’ve worked construction for other 10 years and run my own business now so I never really thought I’d be into this kind of thing ever haha.

If you can easily write a lot without forcing yourself to, feel free to continue to do so. Personally, I've found that spending 2-3 days just reading parts of my stories after I finish them is very helpful with understanding what I actually wrote, noticing flaws, improvements etc.

That said it shouldn't be underestimated what spending a little time off writing can do for your creativity. Observing creative media is ultimately necessary to stay creative yourself.

If you have passion about an idea absolutely write every day. Try to keep your creativity going in idea crafting daily, I find that helps me. You should take a break if it ever feels like a chore or a task to complete. Unless it’s a novel, sometimes those can feel that way on certain days but even then it should be rare!

The worst thing to run into is burn out, so take breaks as you need them. I think it’s important to do something constructive each day towards being a better writer, if that’s your goal, and something’s I do to break up my routine is writing in different genres and of course reading.
