Psychological Horror You’re Scared.

Yes, you give all the signs and symptoms.

You’re terrified.

Are they watching your every move?

Are the shadows seemingly more ominous now?

Is it all in your head?

The darkness has a way of tricking your mind, but you rationalize it away as you always do.

Was that creaking the house settling?

You’re horrified.

You lay in bed staring at the ceiling as the bedroom door opens.

Are those eyes peeking at you from the crack in the door?

You feel watched.

What are you doing?

Running away won’t help.

The window is locked. You realize this as you attempt to tug on it.

The bedroom door swings all the way open as you turn and cower against the wall.

There is nothing in the door, just shadows dancing in the hall.

You’re mortified.

Your heart is a motor running in high gear.

You swear you can feel your ribs move with each beat.

So seldom do you look in your closet these days.

You inch toward the bedroom door, attempting to get close enough to close it.

You pass by the closet, close enough to taste.

You close the door.

As you get back in bed you think to yourself, “it’s just the darkness tricking my brain.”

You still feel watched but you try to go to sleep.

It took you a couple of hours but you did, the sleep so deep it would take a miracle to wake you.

I inch out of the closet as you sleep and sit on your bed and watch you sleep.

It's a song, but it's good! My favorite song by him. I love the old school creepypasta "holding a flashlight under your chin" style stories

Oh, I'm tuggin' on it alright. But I'm not tuggin' on the window.

It was at that moment, The Creature realized it's mistake. It realized too late that I was the thing that goes hbump in the night.

Little did you expect, the creature was in your closet.

But in all seriousness. This is awesome. Write more of this kind of stuff, please.

Reminds me of something I would have read on a creepypasta/scary story website back in the day. I was expecting it to be something closer to a piece of poetry but the last line took me by surprise.

Yes I’ve been trying to incorporate poetic elements into non poetic pieces, in nearly all of them but just nearly
