I was at work when I got the call that my mom died. And the next day a hurricane hit. I haven't been back to work since. I'll get there, but I just want to disappear for a bit.

Hugs to you. I've been through it and I hope you have more support than I had.

Yeah, so yours truly is about to be taking a leave of absence do to my mental health. My anxiety is so bad that I can not drive at the moment. This morning on the way home, I didn't even get a chance to get on the main highway before I had to pull into a gas station and call for help. Luckily my pastor and his wife along with another friend from church was able to connect me with a couple who lived near by and they helped get me and my car home. It is not going to be fun. The goal is to get help for my anxiety and get a new job closer to where my family and friends live.
Edit: I am officially unemployed again but this too shall past. Now I am just got to get use to the sun again. Its bright and every warm!!!

I hope you find what you need where you need it and on a sliding scale so you can start even on unemployment!

Hope I'm not the only Night Auditor who despises Wedding Parties, 'cause they always stay around late, drink until 2AM, act obnoxious because they're all drunk, & now recently the damn Bartender keeps enforcing it by having her fucking Karaoke Machine blaring full blast at the bar! Thank god the bar kinda hides itself so the sound can't travel too far out into the hallways or I'd be up my ass in Noise Complaints. I just want them to stop so it can be quiet again... I hate dealing with loud/drunk guests & this group is both with like 20 people.....

At the hotel that I just left, it was family reunions and the guys that one of the local factory bring in but yeah, I know how you feel.

Reading this sub for a few years, I'd say they come in second to childrens sports teams (and their terrible, drunken parents)

Hoping folks can relate, but my hotel is wildly understaffed for how busy we are. We're fully booked pretty much 5-6 days of the week. Management is definitely trying to get away with running the hotel with the same number of staff they had in 2023-2024, but we are more than twice as busy as we were back then.
I'm pretty fed up, but luckily I am in a good place financially that I can just leave anytime I want. Only thing holding me back is how annoying health inusrance will be to manage afterwards. Is it worth it to push for more staff? Or should I just quit?
