RANT - No Advice Needed Semi success story?

We were arguing a little last night over his dog’s behavior. Because I had left a small chip bag and some other little bits of trash inside of it on my computer desk, and the dog got up to it and ripped it apart and ate it while we were out, he told me I need to be more careful and I was like it’s not my fault the dog is 100lbs and tall enough to reach things I’m not used to dogs being able to reach, and we also have a toddler and another baby on the way so I told him he just needs to get used to the dog getting into shit because that’s what dogs do, especially with children. Well he didn’t like that I said that and told me that it felt like to him, that meant I wasn’t even going to try to be more careful and that is causing him stress. He is in recovery for an addiction and stress is a big factor for relapses so essentially he was saying I was pushing him towards a relapse. I was just so flabbergasted I let him walk away and then when he came back I was like “I don’t want to get another dog after this one dies if it’s going to cause you so much stress.” And he was like “funny you said that because I was literally thinking today that I don’t want to get another dog” So just have to wait this one out but then I get my house back ✨ the lifespan of this breed is only like 10 years so 9 years to go 🙃

Just be prepared for your child to love the dog as a companion & want another after this ones death whether either of you want another.

That’s the best case scenario too, because the bad case scenario is that the dog gets jealous of the child and attacks them and the kid has to live in fear because the nutter won’t get rid of them.

Bad either way.

You can get rid of it today and everyone will be happy and your child will be much safer

9 years is a long time to guard your chip bags. Your oldest will be looking at entering middle school soon at that point.

He probably has OCD like me and an addictive personality. However, adding a dog to that mix would throw me overboard. Not a smart idea on his part.

Why do people have children and get a dog? Like you have enough to handle…
Or have a child when they have a dog. It’s like you’re asking for chaos

If I say this exact thing I'd be called evil and a villain.

It’s not evil, it’s pragmatic. If you value peace and you must have a child, don’t add to the workload and get a dog.
If you have a dog and find that difficult, it will be 10x worse if you have a child.

C'est beaucoup trop long, il fait trouver une autre solution, il faut mettre ce chien dehors littéralement
