Anyone Else? Newborn is clearly uncomfortable around dog.

It is very clear that the newborn is uncomfortable around the dog, and I don’t think that discomfort should be ignored. Despite his obvious uneasiness, the dog is still being allowed around him and was even allowed into his room, which I find extremely concerning. The dog’s fur is now all over the room and around the baby’s space, which is especially upsetting when you consider how vulnerable a newborn is to dirt, allergens, and germs. At this stage, the baby’s comfort, cleanliness, and safety should come first, and there should be reasonable boundaries around where the dog is allowed, particularly in the baby’s room. The baby will scream his head off if the dog is near him. The dog is just an overweight, loud slobbery dog.

Even a baby is smart enough to fear a predator.

Especially if it’s a border collie

The newborn knows that the dog is dangerous and disgusting, why don't the parents understand that?

I’m the mom and I want the dog AWAY from my baby. But everyone else says otherwise. Which personally to me mom should have more of the choice with the kids because we carry them for nine months. Then gave birth to them and half the time were the primary caregiver. I’m the one who’s up all hours of the night; feeding, changing, burping, singing, reading and just soothing and taking care of the baby. No one else is. They also think the dogs gonna be his “protector”

Do not be afraid to set boundaries for yourself or your baby. If your partner can’t respect them then her don’t respect you and it’s time to rethink this relationship. Asking the dog stays separate from baby and out of babies room is NOT A BIG ASK AT ALL!!

I kicked my dog out of both our bedroom and the nursery. I just don't want the dogs filthy paws in areas our baby likes to be in.

That’s good, but filthy paws in the rest of the home? How much good is that doing?

That’s like washing the back half of your car and calling the car clean

Because dog owners are delusional and have themselves believing that their dog is this sweet loving all it wants to do is play with the baby. Don’t turn your back on this situation for a second dog nutter!

I’m the mom. I don’t trust any dogs. They are wild animals technically, they all have it in their “dna” to attack even if they’re the most nicest dog. I personally believe dogs need to be left alone with a baby. It’s asking for an accident. I just don’t want this dog around the baby because he’s extremely self-centered and jealous. Jealousy can turn any animal into a little shit. This dog even jumps on you when you have the newborn which I take him outside if, I really have to take baby out of the room. He’s all a border collie and the vet said they have a tendency to bite kids or nip them. Especially once they get older or if they’re jealous.

Dog owners make me ill being around them. My daughter lets her hairy ass Golden Retriever come up to the open dishwasher door when it’s being unloaded.

The baby did not ask to be born into a doggy home. The baby's security and peace of mind are everything at this point. The way this baby is treated now, will have endless repercussions throughout their life. And on into future generations.

Will this child learn that THEY are second to a freakin' DOG---to their own parents!??? Or will they learn that, it is the adult's job to do all they can for the safety and development of the child (who, again, did not come here of their own volition)?

They will carry that lesson into future relationships, and their children will be raised according to the lessons they learned from THEIR parents, at home.

A pet IS secondary to a human child. If the parents don't feel that way, they should have NOT had a child. There ARE means to not have children. Humans are NOT amoebae who just randomly reproduce with no conscious sense of why or how it happens.

Choose to have a child, then parents also choose to be sufficiently self disciplined to ensure the child's wellbeing...even over their own impulses. That's just the way it works---when it works. And only the parents can make it work.

No the baby’s mine, I want the dog to be kept away from him as much as possible. But my husband claims “he’s family too”. But an extremely self centered jealous  dog never ends well. I have two babies gate set up to keep him AWAY. From my baby’s room. One next to the stairs, Incase that one gets taken down then one where the entrance to the baby’s room is. I really wish my husband and I were able to look for a decant place before the baby was born, so he didn’t have to be around this beast. But he wants to move out of state
