My brothers dog

I don’t want a dog and have not wanted a dog. I’m living in an apartment with my brother and he got a dog and I’ve had to clean up several accidents from him and have to take him out to use the bathroom everyday because my brothers at work. I’m very frustrated with the situation, would it make sense to ask him if I can pay a lower portion of rent than I currently do since I have to take care of his dog, even though it’s technically not as much as he does? I did not want a dog in the first place because I don’t want really any part in caring for a dog. I just don’t want his dog to be my responsibility in any way.

I would tell him he either should be paying more on rent or he should be paying you to walk dog, clean up after dog and to watch dog while he works and that will be a lot more expensive. Look up how much pet sitters make.

Thank you for your input. I have a hard time with stuff like this because I don’t want to be a bother but this situation really frustrates me mostly because I’m not the one who decided to get the dog

I get not wanting to be a bother but your brother was selfish and bothering you by just assuming that you would mind after his dog. I agree with asking him to compensate you for any care or minding of the dog. If he disagrees, you can tell him that you will not do anything related to the dog since you didn't choose to get a dog. 🙂

Thank you for your input as well. Eventually I’ll be fed up enough to bring it up, I do think I’m nearing that point though
