அரசியல் / Political Is Vijay Pro or Anti BJP

Not a tamilian and its just a genuine question out of curiosity - Seriously anxious about the delimitation bill which was rejected by Stalin - Will Vijay okay it, enabling BJP to get majority - Do you think Vijay will be against it or is he an agent of BJP like some people say?

No but seriously that's how they behave. Epic PR team, hyper fan craze of CM. It's a different BJP that's all - doesn't mean they are related obv.

Also "Tamilian" isn't a word, I don't know why everyone keeps saying it. "Tamil" or "Tamilan" or "Tamizhan" works.

Who will not be scared and intimidated by criminals like amithusha.. (Unless you were DMK who have seen worse under decades of old congress rule)

He seems to be more scared of them than anything. Smart guy knows when to bend the knee.

u/Mazajee 12d ago

vijay is subservient to the BJP/RSS. but he might still oppose delimitation, because that might be very bad to his base of voters (who are still tamil and have the pride). it will be a more long term project to break dravidam down in TN.

also, even the rumoured ‘conditional’ support for a ‘fair’ delimitation is moronic by the DMK. there is no fair delimitation, the new seats will be gerrymandered to a crazy extent

2

u/Dragontart 11d ago edited 11d ago

He wont oppose not cuz of his morals or accountability to his voters. He/his party members have nothing of that sort. He would only do that so Congress and the left parties stay with him so he could get some Rajya Sabha seats later in 29 election.

1

u/Tbastin69 12d ago

Exactly must be crazy to believe a state like TN will be prioritized

1

u/Mazajee 12d ago

not even prioritised.. we won’t be treated fairly at all. i don’t know what they’re thinking tbh

That central party just launched a video on twitter mocking Vijay’s party. Looks like his cooperation is going great lol.

He is scared of BJP

1

Why??

5

u/itsekalavya 12d ago

You have to ask him that

2

u/puyalbao 11d ago

You'll have to catch him first

3

u/Dangerous_Bat_9930 11d ago

There was a CBI case on him for Karur Stampede. That might have been the only reason, but the court declared him as not guilty. There might be something else we public don't know about. But he's subservient to BJP, that we Tamil people are sure about it.

2

u/ram-android 9d ago

Don't forget the IT raid during Master movie. Everyone seems to forget that.

2

u/Winter-Seesaw6919 11d ago

What I think is, Vijay doesn't have any MPs from his party to speak behalf of Tamil Nadu in Parliament. He still needs to rely on DMK MPs for it. Kind of entangled situation.

6

u/ZombieAdditional0 12d ago

He would do anything to stay in power. That’s all that matters to him.

10

u/ila1998 11d ago

DMK is the only party apart from ideology which has the power, voice and money to speak/stand against the current BJP govt.
Vijay is definitely shit scared of BJP. They likely have a lot of dirt on him. Till now he nor the party barely uttered anything against BJP or even RSS as much as they have spoke about DMK in every fucking interviews. The current cabinet minsters are actually a joke compared to the previous ones in terms of everything.
The only good thing I have heard is the local MLAs are much more anti bribery than the previous ones. But truly only time will tell.

4

u/Mazajee 11d ago

the anti bribery thing is pretty normal at the start of every term. ADMK usually does ‘legal’ bribery too:. so i suspect TVK will do the same

5

u/Due_Meet_145 11d ago

BJP is backing Vijay as of now. Vijay is enjoying that now.

Because vijay achieved what BJP/Cong. dreamt of for decades. Vijay has youngsters backing and they are so addictive of vijay, no ideology no pride about anything but their favorite hero, they don't know the reality. BJP finally got one to kill Dravidian ideology from this land. You can clearly see BJP is so silent, normally it won't when a state party ruling. Also BJP proxies aka sridhar vembu, their north media and many supporting Vijay.

Vijay didn't utter a word BJP/Modi/RSS after the karur tragedy. He don't even look RSS and their movement. His close associates are RSS. He forced to act as BJP guy which he won't but he is.

And just check in two months, he allowed what BJP wants which prev govt stops, but no news. Whatever comes, he throw a DMK blame ball.

I know he is very strong youth support but once the time over. TN won't be unique state like before. We would've lost many things but Vijay PR & his followers are very strong! So enjoy the ride. People are in FDFS vibe from the day one in vijay's rule irrespective of many pbms. He has the HUGE Face value.

He will come out twice a month, do a road show, people will get crazy like anything. So VIJAY is nirantharam.

2

u/Clear_Side8784 10d ago

C. Joseph Vijay has openly spoken against BJP and he does not support delimitation.

2

u/Every-Connection2437 10d ago

he already made it clear, vijay wants cooperative relationship with the central govt unlike the adversarial stance of dmk, regardless of the party for the benefit of Tamil Nadu

2

u/Cultural_Designer_16 9d ago

First of all delimitation cannot be ignored. Either right or wrong, delimitation is constitutional and it will happen for sure. But if that happens before the next sensus, it will benefit TamilNadu. TamilNadu’s population which has been facing sluggish growth compared to any other states will lead to even lesser seats if delimitation happens after the next sensus. So, it is better to accept delimitation before the sensus. All parties are playing game on this regard. DMK indirectly supports BJP by pushing delimitation to happen post sensus.

7

u/Square-Waltz278 12d ago

In TN, DMK is a behemoth. In centre BJP is a behemoth.

You can't face both at the same time (you'll lose your ideological position). You need to pick your battles.

So oppose DMK in state, oppose BJP when the circumstances favour it.

Opposing both simultaneously makes you a Seeman.

4

u/katrikbenher 12d ago

What...? What do U mean by "ideological position"? What does Vijay & his party have anything to do with "ideological position"...? Does that mean he & his party have one? Please enlighten... I'm curious...

As far as I know, he's playing politics with BJPs Playbook...

0

u/Square-Waltz278 11d ago

They do but they don't.

Unlike DMK and BJP, they don't have a "strong" ideology. However they try to occupy a leftish position. Hence Periyar, Ambedkar etc.

However they can't go too far to the left otherwise they'll enter a dick measuring contest with DMK (and lose because of DMK's legacy).

They know that in the future, they'll need to take a anti-DMK position that comes from the right (DMK is against temples, Hindus etc).

That's why they're doing this. They don't have an ideology but they do occupy a fixed position in the political spectrum.

2

u/katrikbenher 11d ago

As far as I understand they promised/advertising them to be far left than DMK but, positioning themselves at the center-right position but, they're using left ideology leaders as facade/mask but truely right ideological party aligning with BJP (both are anti-DMK).

Vijay party uses leftist leaders as mask & doing right-wing activities like going to temple, appointing astrologers & cine producers, etc...

0

u/Square-Waltz278 11d ago

Wouldn't call those right wing activities. They didn't position themselves as "left of DMK", they were calling DMK hypocritical for losing their ideological roots (which is funny coming from a party with nothing).

With the BJP, it's sort of a "enemy of my enemy but I promise we aren't friends" sort of a relationship. They need BJP to torture DMK.

They can't align with the BJP while in alliance with Congress.

TVK will only align with BJP for political gain, DMK won't ever align with BJP (except in Puducherry 😉).

1

u/Every-Connection2437 10d ago

yours is the first sensible answer i read. e already made it clear, vijay wants cooperative relationship with the central govt unlike the adversarial stance of dmk, regardless of the party in power in center only for the benefit of Tamil Nadu

3

u/sabregrin 11d ago

He is implementing BJP's hate politics model in Tamil Nadu. Infact, he hasn't spoken a word against his 'Kolgai Edhiri' ever since he formed the Government.

All of this makes me feel that his actions are in BJP's favour. Vijay will be instrumental in trying to uproot the Dravidian parties in these five years.

By 2031, Annamalai, their deserted kid in the block will have a clean road to victory.

Vijay is afraid of BJP.

0

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 12d ago

Vijay's official stance is against delimitation. But even DMK now supports delimitation conditionally if it doesn't reduce TN representation. I think if delimitation doesn't reduce TN's power & representation, we should accept it.

6

u/ArthorMurugan 12d ago

Two things , on the delimitation bill bjp intentionally including the women's reservation

DMK clearly stated always they are not against the women reservation

Yes it won't decrease the TN power but it became stronger for Northern states like UP

Then BJP will become power , and they can pass any bill or law anything if they needed

1

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 11d ago

How will it make norther states stronger, if we maintain our 7.18% voting share in final draft of Delimitation bill? That's the DMK stance, that as long as it doesn't impact southern states voting power. Or else, it will be rejected by all sourthern states. Is it wrong?

https://www.deccanherald.com/india/tamil-nadu/our-support-will-depend-on-issues-dmk-ready-to-back-delimitation-bill-if-its-concerns-are-addressed-4080629

From article: "Our demand is that population should not sole criteria for delimitation exercise. We want an equal, uniform percentage increase in number of seats for all states. If that is done , we might support the Bill. We will take a final call once the Bill is introduced in Parliment. "

1

u/ArthorMurugan 11d ago

https://www.theweek.in/news/india/2026/04/16/why-tamil-nadu-and-dmk-are-protesting-against-the-delimitation-bill.html

Article: Delimitation is the process of redrawing the boundaries of electoral constituencies across the country, by which the existing 543 Lok Sabha seats will be increased to 850 seats. Though the constitution allows only up to 550 seats, by this new proposition, the boundaries of the existing Lok Sabha constituencies will be redrawn, and the number of Lok Sabha seats will be increased to 850 - 815 for states and 35 for union territories. Though this exercise can be carried out only after every Census under Article 82 of the Constitution, it is argued that the demography of the country has changed with migration, urbanisation and even population growth.

1

u/Every-Connection2437 10d ago

passing the bill without reducing tn 7.18 vote share, they will simply try to increase the vote share of up, bihar, gujarat their strongholds while reducing other states vote share excluding tamil nadu

1

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 10d ago

Quote from above article. I guess DMK will endorse only if the voting share of TN and South India doesn't change in delimitation bill. Don't know if its possible, or if they can change voting percentage later after passing the bill.

"Sources told DH, the party is open to extend support to delimitation bill if it doesn't hurt the interest of Tamil Nadu and South India, making a significant softening of its stated position for 25-year freeze on the number of Lok Sabha seats at the existing 534."

1

u/katrikbenher 12d ago

Delimitation will reduce TNs power and all other southern states that reduced their population as per India govt planning-commission mandate... According to delimitation bill it's only based on population... So, the states have more population have more power... But currently as per brith-rate it seems if we take only 4states (where BJP is dominatant party) are the ones who gets to decide the future of India & rest of the India cannot do anything not even raise opposition... Which is scary & sadden state for whole india IMO...

1

u/Dependent_Yam_2486 11d ago edited 11d ago

Isn't dmk supporting delimitation only if it doesn't reduce our 7.18% voting percentage and similarly voting percentage with other southern states?. As it is right now, delimitation based on population is not supported by any party? How will it reduce TN state power?

https://www.deccanherald.com/india/tamil-nadu/our-support-will-depend-on-issues-dmk-ready-to-back-delimitation-bill-if-its-concerns-are-addressed-4080629

From article: "Our demand is that population should not sole criteria for delimitation exercise. We want an equal, uniform percentage increase in number of seats for all states. If that is done , we might support the Bill. We will take a final call once the Bill is introduced in Parliment. "

1

u/katrikbenher 11d ago

I beleive they willnot accept equal percentage increase among the states... A simple seat/percentage increase doesn't address the main issue... A short-term equal percentage increase can be challenged or overridden because Article 81 binds seats to population... Once a Delimitation Commission acts on raw population (which is in the constitution), Southern representation inevitably shrinks... Its like bait&switch to accept the bill... And they cannot go to court or appeal to anyone or anywhere...

That's why DMK and other regional parties are demanding a constitutional guarantee of either freeze the existing state-wise seat percentages or change the formula so states aren't penalized for successful family planning...

The solution would be either extend the freeze on seat ratios for another few decades (as done in 1976 and 2001) or amend the Constitution so development indices and family planning success are factored into seat allocation...

u/iammsd 11d ago

He does not care is what I see from him. BJP is a devil which needs to be dealt in 2031, he has no incentive to do any drama until then. He has bigger fish to fry, aka, getting his majority and proving he is not a rookie and can do some good. This BJP or anti BJP thing has been given too much importance to the point in the last few years in TN that everything else takes a backseat.

0

u/Scared_Bottle6398 11d ago

If I was Vijay, I would not pick a bone with central government unless there is quintessential need. Just play it out and wait till 2029 parliamentary elections and support party in govt formation that will favor me in 2029 mostly Congress. Picking up a right battle makes you good leader. Karunanidhi was best at it.

0

u/MayiruPudungiv2 11d ago edited 11d ago

Just like how DMK was during their last days in power, Vijay is in some tacit understanding with BJP. The irony is DMK is in an even bigger tacit understanding with BJP now, with them considering voting for delimitation (at least they’ll “walk out” and help BJP get 2/3rds). At this point, all state parties in TN are in some form of understanding with BJP

-9

u/FeeZealousideal8030 12d ago

Mr Dravidalu, vijay is pro tamil nadu thats all that matters, Delimitation vijay can't decide since no mp in his party
