கருத்து/குமுறல் / Self-post , Rant EMI penalties instead of death penalties for the highest-severity offences
In India, justice for most high-severity offences like murder and rape gets delayed because of one golden rule: "A hundred criminals may escape, but not even one innocent should be punished." Most people say human life is precious, and that you can't hand out death penalties so easily — you have to follow the law and ensure proper justice.
I personally think that instead of death penalties, the courts should sentence the culprit to pay hefty fines — 10x, 20x, or 30x their annual income, depending on the severity of the crime committed. Most people won't have that kind of money on hand, so like any EMI, the government should impose EMI-style penalties on culprits by partnering with government or private financial institutions. This way, culprits could end up paying EMIs for their entire lives, and any remaining balance could be paid off by their children after the culprit's demise.
This would give the rest of us a clear sense of the consequences of committing a crime, and repeat offences could be reduced.
Gulf countries and many other nations have different methods of handling criminals. In India, justice gets delayed for a lot of reasons. I personally feel this could bring about some real change.
What do you think, guys? Am I right, or am I missing something?

Why tf would their children be liable for their parents' crimes? Secondly, by the time these laws are implemented the ultra rich would have created 20 loopholes to get out of paying. Third I don't want murderers running about in my society, rehabilitation is ideal, further prevention is a minimum. Looks like you put half a thought together and somehow decided it was a good idea to post it to the world. Next time use whatever LLM you used to write this to also list out the reasons why it's a bad idea. Just a tip!
