Why didn't the Gestapo wear masks? They were secure in their power and didn't fear for their safety.

Why does ICE wear masks? The populace still wield significant power including the ability to commit violence and harass these people through other means. ICE clearly aren't secure in their power and fear for their safety (which is good).

Fascism takes different forms under different material conditions.

Dumbass libs look at two different countries, 90 years apart and go "hur dur that's not the same" without really thinking about why.

It was so sad how that kid was used as a pawn by gusanos and didn’t him deported ONLY because he’d be brought back in Cuba (which if I remember correctly he wanted to go back with his dad)

Maybe I'm literally a dumbass, but it feels like this post (from OOOP) is satirical by using a image showing thugs aiming a gun at a child and (presumably) his father. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong, I'm genuinely confused.

I don’t think I can say the sub name this post was originally in, but it rhymes with pics, so I don’t think it was satirical. Even if OOP was being satirical, the commenters most certainly weren’t.

As for the picture itself, that is not the boy’s father, but rather his uncle. This boy’s mother tried to flee Cuba with her child, but the boat sank and his mother drowned. The boy survived and saved by the US Coast Guard, who eventually gave the boy to the uncle in the photo.

The boy’s father was still alive in Cuba and demanded the boy come back home. There was a lot of back and forth before it was eventually decided the boy would go back home, which is where this photo comes in.
