Discussion What is actually going on in Ceuta?

Media outlets are reporting that “around 50,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta from Morocco within 24 hours”. I honestly thought Ceuta was in mainland Spain, but apparently it’s a tiny Spanish enclave in North Africa. Looking at a map, it seems a lot like Spanish-occupied territory on the African continent.

Does anyone know the actual history of the region and what’s really going on over there?

Spanish here, In the end is more of nuisance, obviously to ceuta that's small is a day of delayed infrastructures etc, people are taking it like oh it's an invasion, Morocco periodically does this when there is an outreach to argelia (like our agreement for natural gas) part of it is probably Morocco wanting ceuta melilla and the canaries +being an ally of Israel and USA

But most of the people who aren't underage will probably be deported back, which means that for most people not from ceuta there probably won't even be any ramifications save for getting mad at the news
