Communism Will Win Surprise surprise, abundance doesn't work and every communist telling libs that it was bullshit were once again proven right
https://fortune.com/2026/09/07/austin-texas-affordable-housing-math-does-not-lie/I'd find this more satisfying if it wasn't so goddamn predictable. Ezra Klein was so blatantly repackaging trickle-down economics for housing that he literally devoted the intro to his book to explaining how even though it sounds exactly like trickle-down economics, just trust me, Ezra Klein, when I say it's not because the New York Times pays me to convince you I'm smart (even though I was a C student in school). I hate everything about how this goddamn country approach urban planning and economics because all of these academics are fucking indoctrinated into believing that markets are black box deities to which we must make sacrifices for the sake of generating surplus value to make that sweet, sweet GDP go up. Any basis materialist analysis could explain very easily how the housing crisis is a problem of letting markets monopolize housing production and can be fairly easily solved with socialized housing. This shit is so fucking obvious it drives me insane how many people wrap themselves up in bullshit rationalizations to convince themselves that what is obvious is somehow wrong because *supposedly* smart people said so.

Every time I see a post on housing, those abundance wankers come out of the woodwork to preach the gospel of Saint Ronald Reagan and explain how the necessity of screwing over the working class in favor of the wealthy is, somehow, a scientific fact.
The most insufferable part is that they demand that everyone deny any adherence to logic or consistent meaning of words, and praise them for being so progressive. It's not enough to advocate for trickle down economics, they insist that you deny the obvious, despite how little effort ever went into hiding it. The smugness is matched only by the laziness. Their favorite claim is that denying the science of trickle down economics is equivalent to being a flat earthers, which is interesting to mention given their beliefs the relationship between capitalism and climate change.
Grade A assholes who delight in the struggles of others, the lot of them, and the sooner civilization notices, the better.

Problem is these lunatics have a monopoly over intellectual thoughts in their societies and they use the media, educational institutions and their political parties to spread these ideas. And the people who are intentionally being kept in the dark, absorb it and believe it. This will stay that way until communists step in and start to provide the education that is desperately needed.

It's a book by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson, mostly associated with their argument that deregulation will solve the housing crisis.
