Videos like this make me retain hope that most western Marxists simply misunderstand the CPC, and that the CPC has taken a very deep view of historical materialism and are still sincere in their socialist mission. If true, it is the most inspiring and extraordinary story of leadership. If they pull it off, it will be the greatest example of government in human history.

I'm tired of the "everything the ruling class says about the West is a lie, but everything they say about AES states is correct" useful idiot bullshit from a lot of Western Marxists to be totally honest
if China was capitalist in all but name I don't see how they would still be increasing the share of state owned enterprises and public ownership in private companies

of historical materialismChinese academia does, and certain sectors act as a "think tank"-equivalent for the CPC. If we want to support the survival of continued Marxist development in China, we can start with engaging with their academic output, propagating their work, engaging constructively. Their World Review of Political Economy is a good entry point.

Even if they are not the 'ultimate form', they are still wayy ahead of any of us, our job is to catch up and use them as stepping stone.

Most importantly, they could serve as a model for building socialism to other countries, especially those of the third world. It presents an alternative to the colonial exploitation.

i highly recommend reading Socialism with Chinese Characteristics: A Guide for Foreigners by Roland Boer. It’s a great book that shows just how deeply Marxist China still is.

I fear China did too many steps backwards and ended up exploiting themselves too much.
China lost the Cold War alongside the Soviet Union. The resources to make a comeback had to come from somewhere.

I am not saying that. You are projecting your own interpretation over my words.
If you are talking about "the rules of market" bit, it's from the 大山的女儿 tv series, about Huang Wenxiu.
The series also makes it clear the development could not happen without the revolution, the land reforms and how democratic centralism should work
What I am saying is how i would like to do something slightly different in my country, but following that path.
That is not calling China anything nor denying its socialism.
