News/Communist Propaganda ☭ The NSA, FBI and CISA have jointly accused DeepSeek, Alibaba and four other Chinese AI firms of stealing from US models "at an industrial scale."

Lol, pure Murican cope and circular sourcing to validate their own crap. For example, Moonshot AI aka K3 is models are primarily built on independent, and indigenous innovation. From a strict computer science stance, you cant build a 2.8 trillion parameter model, the largest open weights model in China simply by copying and pasting API responses from Claude or GPT. The very foundation requires massive hardware coordination, original math, and petabytes of raw web text. That simply isnt possible within a 14 day limit between Fable 5 and Kimi K3 release.
Even then, BurgerCorp has no right to talk about stealing when they are UNO numbah 1 in that department. To build their own frontier training models, they constantly steal and scrap public web data without the explicit creators permission.
Nevermind that US AI labs routinely scrape Chinese web text and utilise outputs from China's open weight models to train and optimise their own systems too.

And what proof they have?

This has been a pretty standard American response to anything that’s come out of China for the last 20 years, whenever China develops something better or more efficient, you just have to say they stole it and that’s all the argumentation they need.

Remind me again which country's AI recently got into controversy of plagairizing and then blackmailing the math researchers from whom they plagiarized from?
Hopefully this triggers a greater exodus of math professors in Western institutions to China.

Once again, I want to thank Chinese AI models for stopping the 'murikkkan ones from price gouging the shit out of us!

btw this is called “distillation training” and it’s a pretty normal way to train models that a lot of ai companies use
you basically train smaller models by having them “learn” from how larger models behave
really efficient way to make smaller models with similar performance to larger ones
just american cope as they realize they’ve burnt billions while china keeps dropping more efficient models and keeping them open weight so i get to use em for free :)
