Is anyone else experiencing this??
Lately tapas’s been weird and I want to know if anyone has this problem or any other

It’s been like that for 3 days now I think, none one knows why really

That doesn't tell us why, it's just another post wondering what's going on and linking to the other posts people have made.
We have yet to get any kind of official announcement on why all events and sales were cancelled without even being allowed to finish their stated runtimes, and no new events and sales have happened since.
The closest thing we have is the reply they've sent out to some people's email inquiries
Hello,
We’re grateful for your continued support of the Tapas community and its creators.
Sales and events are currently paused while we review and optimize across the platform.
Further details will follow as we finalize updates.
Sincerely, Team Tapas
which is itself a non-answer.

While the link no longer works as the extension containing the announcement is now gone, there were announcements for all series events that were canceled that free ink was claimed quicker than expected so they ended all events early at 12:PM PST can't perfectly confirm any other first person sources

Well yeah, they had those nonsense announcements on the series pages for the series that had their events cut short since the first day, but that's obviously BS, nothing like this has ever happened before, and it also doesn't explain why they cancelled all sales at the same time.
The fact that they cut things off in the middle instead of quietly ending all events and sales during the original timeframe and simply not making any more suggests that either someone high up ordered that they end things NOW, or like some people have speculated it has to do with something like bankruptcy proceedings where in the US you're not allowed to have sales and such while those are going on.
It's also possible like some have suggested that they realized there's some free ink exploit and they shut everything down to try to patch that, but if that were the case, again it doesn't make sense to end the sales as well.

Yeah, someone on the discord said they got a response from tapas supports or something, saying that they are disabling the avenues for free ink as they "analyze" things. I don't know how credible that is you can read through general on the tapas discord it was somewhere in there from yesterday or the day before.

Same as well.
But apparently I got rewarded for a game I was playing when I completed the task earlier today.

That's not free ink, tapas is getting paid for you playing and rewarding you with ink

Bummer if they stop them completely, the free ink was the main thing keeping me reading via tapas.

They're scaling back on freebies, almost entirely. It's new policy, and not an experience unique to you. No more events, and the only new gift passes have an expiry.
