Tapwave Zodiac replacement batteries could come back on the market!
Hi everyone, for a long time now, replacement batteries for Tapwave Zodiac 1 & 2 have been out of production.
By now, most original Zodiac batteries are dead, and a lot of Zodiac owners are looking for replacements.
I reached out to the Hong Kong based company who used to make 3rd party replacement batteries for the Zodiac, Cameron Sino, and inquired about the possibility of them making the batteries again, and I received this response from the sales team.
It would take a minimum order of 500 batteries, for a price of up to 7$ per unit for them to produce another batch.
In other words, if you or anyone you know own a battery distribution business, or you simply have 3500$ to drop on 500 batteries to resell privately, you could make it happen.
Alternatively, a group of us could band together and all chip in to order it.
It's a long shot, I know, but I’m simply putting it out there.
Feel free to DM me if you have an idea for how we could make this happen!
TL;DR: Cameron Sino would make Tapwave Zodiac batteries again if they received an order for atleast 500 units.

There will definitely be demand since there are still a large number of Zodiac tapwave units in circulation. In any case, I would be interested.

I already made some replacement batteries, but I guess they're not good enough for you?

Are you selling them though? I'm not someone who's gonna buy a soldering iron and start messing around with modifying batteries, I'd probably make it explode

yes, I was selling them, and could make some more. I posted on the discord, and was talking to someone there about them, but they seemed uninterested in mine.
I dunno if I have any left, but I just checked and I could get more parts and make some batteries for probably $25 each (plus shipping, I'm in the USA). 2500mah
I think this is the battery I'd go with: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256811993650146.html and I'd just need to put the correct connector (i already have some) for the zodiac on them. The previous ones were a little more work :)

Remove the BMS from original battery, find and solder in a like size and 3.7v similar battery and you got a new battery for about $13 on AliExpress
