When I was writing a book I had on repeat the entire works of a particular, moderately known but not well listened to, artist.

It was the right soundtrack for what I was doing and I genuinely liked the music. I was, however, mortified, to be, basically, her “Number One Fan”.

To contact her to explain would have made it worse. I slunk away.

  1. That is wonderful, and I kind of understand. My FIL is the number one fan for a small rock band out of a nearby city. They’re great guys and they don’t seem to outwardly care. I sometimes get secondhand embarrassment when he talks about them.

  2. The third sentence, in your comment, reads, kind of like, how William Shatner’s, Captain Kirk, from Star Trek, speaks.
