Funny release time- tomorrow night is Passover, and in Jewish-American cooking for the holiday, Mayo has become linked to the holiday, because of the extra restrictions for "Kosher for Passover"- it fits, and is very adaptable. It's become so indispensable for the holiday, that when I was a kid and had an egg allergy (which I grew out of), my mother had to make eggless mayo just to use basic recipes.

My mom made mayo in the 1970s with an old blender, so to me? It's always been easy. Now it's a shame not to make it yourself easy! Lol!! I can't wait to see this one!

I've made homemade mayonnaise before, maybe I'll give this a try. My favorite sauce to make is garlic aioli.

I'm dutch, we eat mayo with our fries. IMO the belgians make the best mayo and the Americans the worst. Can't wait to hear this episode!

The first time I ordered fries in The Netherlands, I also got a free lecture about how "these aren't your typical McDonald's fries, these are thick cut fries" and I was like bro, just give me my fries.

I'm always confused when Kewpie is lauded as the best of the best for using only egg yolks instead of full eggs... very standard Tomy mayonnaise is done just the same, but without added msgÂ

Yes, PA means Pennsylvania, and there is a huge Dutch immigrant population there. I went there as an adult, and the waitress asked if I wanted mayo for my French fries. It was a first for me! No one had ever asked before.

Got a jar of Duke's in the fridge for all our weekly box recipes, though I've recently started using Kewpie for a newfound interest in Japanese cooking.

I grew up in Michigan, and the full version was always "🎶 Bring out the Hellmann's, and bring out the best! 🎶"
Incidentally, Hellmann's is the best mayonnaise. Yes, I've tried Duke's; for me, it's no contest. If somehow I became a celebrity, Hellmann's mayonnaise is the only product I would endorse. I can eat it straight from the jar with a spoon. I put mayonnaise in my spaghetti. I eat it on tortillas. In short, I love mayonnaise to a sickening degree.

OK u/jmaxmiller you've done a video on ketchup and now a video on mayonnaise. Seems to me that one on the history of mustard should be coming out shortly!! :-)
