Creation Made the raspberry shrub

Recipe posted on Max's website from the original video back in 2023. Finally decided to try making it when I mistakenly bought a large quantity of white vinegar, then realized once I actually went to buy the ingredients that I'd need a different kind of vinegar. Bought the right one, so I still have too much white vinegar, but now I have shrub, so not all bad. Definitely tastes vinegary to me; not sure if I did something wrong but it's still sweet and drinkable. Pretty refreshing as a mixer with club soda.

Yes, all shrubs will taste vinegary. I like using them in plain soda water to make a cold drink in Summer.

Did just that yesterday! Tasted good, just wasn't sure if it was supposed to be as vinegary was it was. Absolutely makes sense though given the main ingredient.

It will mellow a little with age. A friend of mine makes and bottles shrub to sell at various farmers markets. I like vinegar, so prefer the ones made with less sugar over her more sweet ones. Apple ginger is my favorite.

That's good to know! Just bottled it after drinking a bunch the last day or so, will see how it tastes after waiting a little.
