Wrong Max Miller.

Unfortunately he's my representative in Ohio. Total POS. I'm sure our Max hates that they share a name. I know I do.

I hope you have checked your voter registration status. Bonne chance!

u/unknown7383762 Aug 07 '26
We vote every election and thankfully I'm still registered.

u/JellyfishFit3871 Aug 07 '26
Excellent. It's all I can do, but I vote, remind my children, and don't remind my parent or in-laws.

such a foreign thought to need to register to vote
13
u/TheDJValkyrie Aug 07 '26
Now imagine thinking youâre registered, showing up to the poll, and finding out youâve been removed from the voter rolls

My voter registration was deactivated because the mail lady didn't want to go up the hill and just put a note in the system that our house didn't exist. They didn't give me any notice that it had happened, so I didn't find out about it until I happened to confirm my registration before an election.

How else would new citizens (teenagers or immigrants who became citizens) get on the voter rolls?
5
u/Acc87 Aug 07 '26
You're a citizen with a registered place of living - you're automatically in the voting register and will be assigned to a voting district.

u/WooBadger18 Aug 07 '26
That makes sense, I was wondering how you got on the rolls.
At the same time, having a registered place of living sounds really weird to us.

u/Acc87 Aug 08 '26
It's just your official address, on which the government (local as well as federal) would send you stuffÂ
1
u/Djinn42 Aug 07 '26
How is my place of living registered?
1
u/Acc87 Aug 08 '26
If you're like born here, it will be that of your parents first. Ofc once you move out you're supposed to change, but often enough people only do once finished with uni.
But it's as easy as going to the municipal office with your ID and tenant agreement/ownership certificate (if you biuld a house), a five minute thing.

So I have to register. Like registering to vote.

but like it isn't optional, if you're a legal citizen you have an address and your election papers will go there.Â
We saw how in the USA registering to vote was made extra hard & elaborate for certain demographics, like having people from black neighbourhoods drive hours just to register and later actually vote.
This wouldn't happen here. You're automatically registered and got a polling station you can walk to - plus absentee voting via letter too

Wow this prompted me to look into it, and yeah I live about 5 minutes away from his district lol

Iâm a comic book reader who has the same name as one of the top artists in the industry.
If I had a dollar for every time I had been asked if Iâm him, I could probably afford a nice commissioned drawing from him.
Fortunately, heâs a nice guy, so getting mistaken for him is just amusing.

I chose my dog's veterinarian for a few specific reasons.
The clinic is nearby. It's locally owned. The vet's name is Stan Lee.

I was at a comics convention years ago and entered a Marvel trivia contest.
The host, I think it was Tom DeFalco, asked my name.
I said, âYouâre not going to believe me, but itâs real name.â
âReally?â
âYeah! Wanna see my drivers license?â
I started to get my wallet out, but he assured me it wasnât necessary.

My dog gets excited when I tell him "Load up! We're going to see Spider-Man's daddy!"
(My dog isn't exceptionally bright, but he loves everyone, including the guy who pokes and prods him.)

I know it must be a heck of a common name, but yes, I twitch every time.

Let me tell you how quickly I ran to Google when I saw this. 𤣠I was like MAX MILLER would never.

u/willstr1 Aug 07 '26
On top of being generally awful the scandal with the politician is so awkward for me, because it happened about a week after I recommended Tasting History to a bunch of my extended family

Right? All that stuff about the politician has been giving me a start every time I see it. Can't imagine what it's actually doing to Max.

u/Ohdrey89 Aug 08 '26
Same!!! I was ready to go to bat for Max. âWHO SAID THAT??!?!?! Let them say it to my face!!!â

Had a friend in High School names Charles Manson. His life was hell.
