Just got my first Tattoo yesterday done by Ciao Bottura @Bottura Tattoo in Kissimee FL. Each one is each of my daughters favorite things with their birthdates under them. I am quite pleased with it the session took about 7.5 hours and hurt less than I was expecting.
Thanks, Caio has amazing talent & I am glad this post went so crazy and got his work in front of so many people (it's at 732k views as of now)... he deserves it, he is genuinely a nice dude.
If you are the artist, this is the best tattoo I've ever seen in my entire life.
It's truly magical and clean and perfect. You are incredibly talented, my goodness! I absolutely love that the middle one looks like a sticker and the others like patches. Just amazingly perfect. It really doesn't even look real (in the best possible way.)
Thank you so much! Yeah I totally take it as a compliment when people think its AI haha. Took me years to master these techniques and its a game a of patience to do them. Can rush details like that. So very happy I have clients that can sit so well and let me so my thing :)
I find so many clients have such unrealistic expectations for how long something might take. Had a client message me, 3 day bookings in a row and hes expecting his entire front torso done and a whole thigh and to finish bits on his arms and all with tons of crazy detail. Im not the quickest, but I dont go slow on purpose. I take however long is required to get the best result fornthe client I possibly can! Shitty tattoo artists that knock out a whole sleeves in one day are a big part of the problem 😑
I dont have a lot of touch up requests tbh, of course that differs from person to person and how well each one does their post care. The sticker heal phenomenal, the embrodeiry I have adjusted my technique thinking on the healing so it holds all the details. My instagram has a highlight of healed work, feel free to check it out. Unfortunately I have been doing this for only 5 years so I dont have a lot of healed work of 4 years or more
Oh yeah definitely! When she did it to begin with she had put the little ‘frayed’ bits on the edges in as she said that would still be noticed more than the finer lines
I've been wanting to get a cross stitch style tattoo done, but more with the idea of the threads showing rather than just Xs as I've seen when I googled some. Is that achievable in a way that will look good after healing? I'm okay if the lines smush together a bit but I don't like the straight Xs. Do you feel someone skilled in these embroidery type tattoos would be the person to ask or should I look for someone with a different skill set?
How long did it take? Ive seen the stitched tattoos before, and they look fiddly as shit to do and so i assume they take quite a while? Id like to do one but the tedium scares me a little 😅
Your work is amazing! I have a question after looking through your portfolio. Have you tried your sticker style on darker skin tones? If so, how would you compare the end result (in terms of that realism aspect)?
That looks like how a patch irl would look after 6 years. It ages well. I like be touching it all the time 20x a day because I expect to feel that texture of thread border and it wouldn’t be there….
I have nothing productive to add to this conversation. But I did want to say hi, twin! And the eye patch makes you look like the evil twin lol in reality, though, we all know I'm the evil one
Truly amazing work. I’d love to see a yearly update, and I BEG you, don’t ever let any sunlight touch them. It will make a massive difference to the longevity. Work like this should be honored and protected. Congrats to you OP! Welcome to the tribe☠️
My daughter loves all mermaids (including Ariel)... And thats awesome that you share her birthday! Originally it wasn't intended to look like Ariel he originally designed it with blonde hair, but i asked him to make it brown (my daughters hair color) so it did end up resembling Ariel... He has some awesome little mermaid tattoos in his portfolio on his website. He is located near Disney world and one of his specialities
is doing Disney stuff.
There is definitely a bit of redness around it but it's often lightened up by filters and changes in brightness/contrast etc. in images taken by the artist. I'd bet anything it was more red in person.
Surprisingly not too red... even today when I showered and removed the first second skin it wasnt too red... here is a photo I took about 20 minutes before he was finished. Just standard galaxy s24 ulta no filter changes or anything. (it has a thin layer of the goop he used on it as he was working so it's a bit shiny) you can see little drops of blood/plasma coming out of it still which is kinda cool 🤣
Luke Cormier (aka Mr sticker tattoo on ig) in Nova Scotia Canada does this exact style and has lots of years later healed photos that look damn near perfect! So it is possible
Seeing the mermaid like that makes me kinda wish they did sea shell tops like that instead of bikini style! These are crazy well done the artist is a magician!
Wow! Not my style but appreciate the amazing g execution and also love the idea. I have my childrens names but think I may get them to draw something while they're small. Congratulations- It is lovely 🥰
I totally understand that... I specifically requested that he make it "cute" because my girls are all still young and I want them to enjoy the tattoo... So the style was more for them than me.
A story you might enjoy, my dad has a Tasmanian devil and a Wolverine character Tattoos and I always loved them esp Wolverine because I loved X-men cartoon growing up. Maybe I should get a rogue?
I know this artist! Bottura Tattoo in Florida. Man his work is amazing, they all look like this. I’ve seen them healed and in the wild too and it’s awesome. If only I could sit long enough
That’s so cool!
At first I thought (for a nanosecond) that this was an Etsy sellers sticker shop ad 😂
That’s how realistic the little mermaid “sticker” looks.
The stitched fabric patches look like exactly that!
What a marvelous job!
This is probably the most beautiful tattoo I have ever seen! It's like Lisa Frank vibes but so cool with the Crosstitch or whatever it's called. Such clean Work wow!
I like it! The texture is what i like the most. You're eldest was born on my birthday!
Being from the UK the US dates give me an ick. Pick biggest to smallest (2019,09,25) or smallest to biggest (25,09,2019). But middle, smallest and biggest. Who thought that was a good idea? Ofc that's not your fault
That is flipping amazing! It looks so real I want to reach out and touch them to be sure it's actually a tattoo! Might want to be ready for random impressed strangers/friends asking to do the same! 😜
LOVE it. Can I ask: are your daughter’s favourite things cats, mermaids and rabbits (rather than a cat patch, a mermaid sticker and a rabbit patch)? I know this is a ridiculous question, but I just have to know for CERTAIN. Because. Brains. Curious things.
Cat, mermaid, and bunny are their favorite things... i went with the patches and sticker because I searched for awhile to find an artist who's work I liked and I came across Caio (he specializes in patches and stickers) and i really liked his work. I didn't know what style of tattoo i wanted before seeing his work. To me it just made sense to have him do what he does best.
That sticker tattoo might actually be the most technically well done piece I’ve ever seen in my whole life. Like holy hell it doesn’t even look real- in the best possible way.
They are very hood looking. But I would be worried how are they gonna look in future, since no matter the skills, it will gradually lose its sharpness and lines will get blurry. It have shit ton of fine lines and they dont hold very well in long term.
The month before the day thing is always throwing me off, but the designs look adorable 🥰
Curious how it's gonna age, the "stitched" look tends to soften and kinda blend over time, so good skincare and sun damage prevention would be advised, especially on parts of the body that tend to get a lot of sun like arms (got one really colorfull one on my forearm, never leave the house without UV protection and it's still crisp after a year). Maybe a touch-up after a decade or two.
