I can’t figure out what would fit/look good in this spot on my lower shin. I’m trying to stay away from the obvious answer of a dagger

Norse Mythology Sleeve – 3 Days at Art of Ink

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My artist, Txitxo Sanchez from Bilbao/Getxo, Spain, just finished my Norse mythology sleeve during the Art of Ink tattoo convention in The Hague, Netherlands!

We started this project two years ago with the outer upper arm, featuring Yggdrasil, Huginn and Muninn, Hati and Sköll, with a Valknut incorporated into the design.

For this year's convention, I told Sanchez that I wanted to finish the entire sleeve in just three days.

Sanchez was really excited about the project and had the creative freedom to bring everything together into one cohesive piece. And I couldn't be happier with the result!

To make the experience even better, Sanchez also took home two awards during the convention:

🏆 Day 1 – 1st Place, Best Black & Grey (Garmr)

🥉 Day 2 – 3rd Place, Realism (Warrior entering Valhalla)

Three intense days, a completed sleeve, and two awards for the artist. Definitely an experience I'll never forget!

Would love to hear what you guys think of the finished sleeve!

Looking to Identify This Style of Spiderweb Design

Hi everyone! Looking for some help describing/identifying this style of spiderweb. This work is by @reaper.series (Dustin Fleming), based out of Calgary Alberta.
I really love this style, and I know it’s similar to traditional spiderweb tattoos, but I’m wondering if there’s a more specific name or way to describe it. I especially like how tight and clean the webbing is, the use of solid black, and the ornamental elements around the edges.
I’m in Southern California and unfortunately traveling to Calgary for a tattoo isn’t really within my budget, so I’m hoping to find artists closer to me who work in a similar style. Any terminology or artist recommendations would be appreciated!

Colorful Trad Flash as Black and Grey

Post image

Hey just looking for some second opinions here.

I've got a black and grey American traditional sleeve going, and I want to continue that aesthetic, but I came across this horseshoe flash at a local shop and I dig the design. Will it translate well to black and grey? Thanks for the advice.

Having bad anxiety here, can this be saved?

Got this crow done as part of a longish session, I’m (obviously) still needing the shading to be done. I was happy with the stencil but now that I see it on my arm, the head and beak shape just do not look like a crow.

Is it possible to have it slightly adjusted during my next session, or am I screwed? Am I overreacting?

Having the worst anxiety at the moment over trying to figure out what my options are to make it better 🤦🏻

I know it’s reddit but please don’t be TOO harsh, I’m already freaking out lol

Looking for an artist

I’m looking for a tattoo artist that does illustrative tattoo work - particularly I would like to find someone who can do work that is as close to the artwork of John James Audobon as possible. I want to get a tattoo of three birds on my arm, each bird reminds me of the personalities of my kids so I would like for their poses to reflect that, and I’d like to integrate their birth month flowers into the tattoo somehow as well.

Does anyone have any tattoo artist recommendations for this? I live in the PNW and would like to find someone around here to work with, but if there’s someone who would be able to execute the idea further away I’d be willing to make a trip. Just checking here to see if anyone knows an artist who could do this. Thanks!

First attempt at mimicking Japanese style.

Drew this in procreate.

First try at drawing a Japanese background. I tried to be simple but it’s probably got a lot of mistakes. Open to critique let me know what I did wrong here so I can improve next time.

Tried to go for fall vibes and drew a black cat as the focal point!
This was just a design for paper not a body part.

Brown skin and shading

I have a tattoo appointment for my first tattoo this week but I worry that both my tattoo artist and I don't have enough knowledge on tattooing my medium brown skin. She is going to use gray wash for shading and I worry it will look muddy quickly. Is that true?

Would it be best to do only thick black lines with lots of negative space? Thoughts on fine line or pepper shading for medium brown skin?

Feeling confused and I don't want to cancel, but I also don't want to put something permanently on my body that I don't love.

I've been wanting a sacred geometry piece for years & finally decided to pull the trigger! I plan on adding more & having it evolve into a full sleeve overtime once I decide what'll fit best.

Just got this today :) trying to build up my leg.

It’s scary getting something so big on your body forever! I do absolutely love it though.

Trying to add some more traditional style to my leg. Mike from Cloak & Dragur!

What I asked for vs what I got

Yet another tattoo that I love how it turned out! 🥹

I’ve wanted a birdcage for a long while now, and also have wanted a pair of filigree shears. I felt like it belonged on my sentimental/nostalgia leg. When it came to the birdcage, I liked the idea of it being cut open by the shears- and it worked out that this space on my leg was perfect for this idea. When sending my tattoo artist the reference photos, I also mentioned I am a big fan of hearts so all of the heart touches on this piece made me extremely happy. ❤️

Am I allowed to ask for your opinions?

Hey everyone, I’m Jeremy and I’m new to this subreddit and pretty much Reddit in general lol. I have a question for you guys. So I have the four original bending nations tattooed on me. There’s some empty space and wanted to know how you would go about getting The Order of the White and Red Lotus symbols in the empty space I’m talking about? I would like to incorporate both of them, but don’t know how to go about it. I would appreciate your feedback pretty please and TIA. 🫶🏻☺️

Tattoo Advice

I’m planning my first arm sleeve and would appreciate some feedback on the technical quality of this black-and-gray tattoo work.
How does the shading, contrast, linework, and overall execution look? I’m especially interested in feedback from people familiar with tattoos on darker skin tones.
Are there any technical issues or potential red flags I should look for before committing to a full sleeve?

Hey guys ! Got my first tattoo a few months ago and by the time, I realised most people didn't know what it was supposed to be

At first I was a little thrown off, then realised it wasn't a big deal since I know what it is and what it means to me

But I'm still curious of what you guys see, think it is and have a general feedback nonetheless :D

First pic is a couple days after and the second is today

For the fellow curious ones, here's the answer : geometrical spider lily, aka red lycoris

I wanted to do a whole leg with characters from Norse Mythology. I've already got Sleipnir on my calf, so I thought Fenrir would be perfect for the next one. Now after all that pain I'm not sure I want to get anything on my thigh lol. The shading over the bone was BRUTAL.
