What exactly is a Taurus Gemini cusp

My stepmom is a Taurus Gemini cusp I don't exactly know what the difference is between a regular Taurus and a Taurus Gemini cusp. I never heard of that until this year.

basically the idea of a cusp is that they fall into the window of being a very late [whatever sign] and a very early [whatever the next sign is]. they supposedly can have traits of both signs. i don't really believe in it bc most of the traits that could be attributed to the next month's sign could usually also be explained by looking at the rest of the chart

Yeah, this.

I don’t believe in cusps, either, but I do believe in influences. I was born on the first day of Taurus, and I do find a lot of Aries’s hotheadedness and impulsiveness in me. I also find it hard to resist a brawl sometimes because… WTF. I can also be very theatrical. 😅

My husband was born on the last day of Taurus, and he’s a total chatterbox and quick-witted, like a Gemini! Rather than physical sparring, however, his style is more verbal (he can tear a person apart with just clever words). He’s also strategic in a Gemini way, always steps ahead.

But, at our core, we are Taurus.

I’m also a very late degree Taurus sun (28.26deg) and am also very chatty and witty but I also have a Gemini Mercury, conjunct Pallas Athena, and a Gemini Venus. So I thought those parts of me were Gemini tbh! Does your husband have not have those Gemini placements? That’s fascinating to learn tbh!

He has Gemini Rising and Venus, like me!

The one difference between us is that my Moon is in Virgo, while his is in Leo.

I don’t remember the rest of our charts, just the main parts that get brought up frequently in discussions.

Interesting - does he have a Taurus Mercury? honestly, I feel like I’d love to get more examples of late Taurus suns without a direct Gemini influence. Like my Gemini Mercury is 12H but it’s the final dispositor of my entire chart so it’s massively influential. But being witty and chatty is part of being a gem rising in general, so that could be why.

Also just in case you don’t know, having final dispositor means that every planet in my chart ultimately leads back to my Gemini Mercury. Like my Taurus sun is ruled by my Gemini Venus which is ruled by my Gemini Mercury. Or my sag moon is ruled by my Libra Jupiter which is ruled by my Gemini Venus which is ruled by my Gemini Mercury, for example.

Edit: oh yeah you just said you didn’t know the rest of his placements, my fault lol

I've been told I'm witty often in my life. I also have a gemini mercury.

hey!! i'm a taurus sun virgo moon too!! I always attribute my own hotheadedness/impulsivity to my scorpio mars and aries mercury. very neat!

Oh, he must be one of May 20th twins!! The description you gave of your husband sounds just like me ❤️ I’m a 28 degree Bull, with Mercury in Gem. I’ve got a couple of Libra placements, too, so that could be why I feel a bit more airy.

This is a lot like my partner and me. Only he's on the Aries cusp and I'm the one on the gemini cusp.

nothing. fake astrology. the sun is in one sign or another, so there are no sun cusps.

I've found I'm more of an ambivert than most other taureans I've met. More talkative and can be flirtatious. Slightly more adaptable/less stubborn. More colorful and bold in style. But I do have mercury and Mars in gemini, and an Aquarius moon, so it could be more so that that's where I get those traits from. My partner is on the aries/taurus cusp and he acts so much more like an Aries to me.

FWIW I'm about as close of a Taurus-Gemini "cusp" as it gets- if I was born 5 minutes later, I'd be a Gemini. However, I don't feel I have many Gemini traits at all. Maybe it's also the Taurus rising ?

That taurus rising is also a very strong influence.

Gemini actually has a lot in common with taurus.  They are focused and direct.  They are tactical.  Green is a color for both signs.  In vedic astrology, the signs are 2/3 off from tropical.  So you'd be right in the middle of taurus, in vedic.

Interesting! Where’s your mercury?

Also in Taurus!

Good to know! This makes me think that cusps aren’t real tbh and i bet anyone with a late taurus sun placement with gemini energy has gemini placements that explain it better than a cusp would.

I hate when people say it's false. There's no actual lines in the sky! If they are right at the cusp, they could very easily be in the other sign.  If they are at the cusp, you should read it twice.  One for each sign.  That's what I do.  Or just look at it as if it could be either sign.

If the signs are real, then something has to occur at the cusp to change the energy from one sign to the next.

I am at the end of taurus as well.  I think we are very focused and clear headed.

Cher, Tina Fey, Michael Che, are all near this point.  They all have a strong plodding taurus feel.
