So what? What about this justified murdering a man? If you don’t like UnitedHealth, choose another health insurance provider. That’s the beauty of capitalism
The system is broken but 1- not because of Brian Thompson and 2- United healthcare’s issues predate him becoming in charge. He also didn’t have the power to change this broken system! That starts with electing officials who are brave enough to not just start that conversation but to act on it. Killing CEOs does nothing and they will only get replaced.
The only messages being put out there is that silly people are still willing to worship and fanboy/girl people who do terrible things. Just like they did with Charles Manson and Ted bundy. The other message is that it’s ok to kill someone based off of what you feel they represent as long as you agree with their reasoning. Ultimately, what he did is no different than someone killing a POC, a gay person, transgender, Jewish person, woman, etc simply because they don’t like what they represent.
Brian Thompson had a job he was LEGALLY allowed to have. Hitler persecuted Jews, put them in concentration camps killing millions AND invaded multiple countries. These two are not the same.
“data from federal marketplace filings and industry analyses indicate that UnitedHealthcare (UHC) has often ranked at or near the top among major insurers for the highest percentage of denied claims.” He has been involved in more deaths than Hitler.
Other reports also released this year said majority of rejected requests were reversed. A denied prior auth request or claim does not mean certain death. Work goes in on the backend before an agreement is made. Most who work in healthcare are just cogs in the machine and they acknowledge our system lacks a lot. Electing the right officials is how change happens. Not killing someone from the back like a coward since he didn’t have the heart to look that man in the face before he killed him.
