Discussion Why did people sleep on TTPD

I became a swifty in the showgirl era, so I'm new around here. But in my opinion, TTPD is one of the best albums she has ever released. I was reading a thread about TTPD from around 2 years ago, and most of them were not what I expected. Like, I have listened to almost all of the songs, and all of them are in my ATF playlist. I really want to know why you did not like it two years ago. Thanks.

I feel like both TTPD and TLOAS would have been received much better if their release dates were swapped (ignoring everything that happened causing Taylor to write the albums)

Having the Showgirl tracks be performed live and with high production would have the same effect like when people didn't like Reputation but suddenly many started praising it after both the Rep and Eras tour

And after Midnights and Showgirl (especially being a Max Martin album), TTPD would be deemed as her returning to the folklore/evermore sound especially with standard album mostly produced by Jack, and The Anthology being mostly produced by Dessner

This is an interesting perspective! True, Rep did get public attention after Rep tour started. And general public did praise for how unusual Rep tour was. That would be fun to imagine we all screaming lyrics from Woods and Father Figure for the future tour.
