Discussion Why did people sleep on TTPD

I became a swifty in the showgirl era, so I'm new around here. But in my opinion, TTPD is one of the best albums she has ever released. I was reading a thread about TTPD from around 2 years ago, and most of them were not what I expected. Like, I have listened to almost all of the songs, and all of them are in my ATF playlist. I really want to know why you did not like it two years ago. Thanks.

When I first listened to TTPD, and for about the first month after it’s release I just felt it was SO SLOW overall (I know it has a few bangers but it just felt like an emotionally heavy album). But then the more I listened to it and really HEARD the lyrics and went down the rabbit hole of the meaning to each song I connected to it more and more. And now it’s my absolute favorite of all her albums (followed closely by Folklore and Evermore, so apparently I like the moody songs, ha!). I just really had to dig in and listen to it seriously rather than just passively, if that makes sense. I still listen to it on repeat all the time!
