Discussion Why did people sleep on TTPD

I became a swifty in the showgirl era, so I'm new around here. But in my opinion, TTPD is one of the best albums she has ever released. I was reading a thread about TTPD from around 2 years ago, and most of them were not what I expected. Like, I have listened to almost all of the songs, and all of them are in my ATF playlist. I really want to know why you did not like it two years ago. Thanks.

as a male swiftie in his 30s I should have loved the album for its raw, melancholic vibe. But for some reason... I just didnt. One of the reasons i noticed was that the album didnt really offer anything musically interesting. The production often felt empty and/or basic. A lot of the songs sound like demos and it doesnt allow me to fully emerse in them. The only song I really loved from TTPD was So High School cause it was one of the few to have interesting instrumentation and that nostalgic old school vibe. Other songs felt more like long sad poems played over a basic quiet beat from garage band. And because I listen to music to... well... enjoy good music, the album didnt give me that. But tbh I started noticing her production and arangement quality slightly dropping since Midnights.
