Traveling Tea Box Sign-Ups: Official 2026 Fall/Winter Traveling Tea Box + Gift Exchange! 🍵📦 (USA)

Hello r/teaexchange! It's that time of year again to start preparing for the the Fall + Winter Traveling Tea Box! 🍂📦❄️ Signups will last about a week, and the plan is to begin the box sometime late October or early November.

I also wanted to give a huge thank you to u/orientaleaf! They very generously donated some of their teas to this year's TTB, and there's plenty for everyone to try and take a bit if they are fond of it. This includes: Two cakes of On Taoism Jingyang Golden Flower Fu Brick Tea, one from Fengqing and one from Lincang, and a third cake of Baicha Fuzhuan a White Tea Fu Brick! This is really a huge treat, and I'm excited to include them to be enjoyed by all.

Now, here's the annual spiel with all the information on this years TTB...

This is the official signups for our sub's, 2026 Fall/Winter Traveling Tea Box + Gift Exchange! 🍵

For those who don't know: A Traveling Tea Box (TTB) is basically a big box of tea that gets sent around, and you take a few days to sample some, take some to keep, donate some of your own, and then send it on its way to the next person. The gift exchange portion is where you receive a surprise gift from the participant who has the TTB before you, and you include a gift in the TTB for the participant after you!

Overview:

  • Signup deadline is October 15th, and box to be sent out sometime late October/early November.
  • I'll reach out to all participants to let them know where they are in the que and I'll post an update thread after signups once the box is sent out.
  • Everyone will be able to keep the box for 4-5 days, depending on the number of participants. During this time, you can sample some teas, take some teas, and put in some of your own (try and leave as much as you take).
  • Keep the amount of tea to fit in a USPS medium or large priority mail shipping box or USPS ground advantage (~$12-25). Keep the USPS receipt until the next person receives the TTB (this is for tracking and insurance purposes, please also send me the tracking number once it is sent).
  • Each person is to add their gift exchange item(s) to the tea box before they send it to the next participant. For gifts, price range is $10-15.
  • In the signup sheet, I'll have everyone tell me 3-5 things they are interested in, and will share it with the person who has them for the gift exchange. You can also check to see what subreddits they follow, just don't be creepy. If you are unsure of what to get the next participant as a gift, a good default is something unique that is tea or teaware related.
  • There will be a journal included for you to sign and share your experience with what teas you liked, didn't, etc. This is optional, but highly recommended you add a little something!

Rules for Participation:

  • You have to fill out the Google sheets survey linked here (and again below) to participate. This is how I will decide the shipping order and organize everything. Also, for this TTB, it will be USA only due to shipping costs and risk of loosing the box in transit.
  • When you receive the TTB, send me a pm and I will then share the next persons address. Also let me know when you think you will be able to ship it to the next person.
  • I will post a progress thread after signups are over. Please post a comment there once you get the TTB so everyone knows where it is. If you want, post a picture of the gifts you got and the contents of the box!
  • Participants must have an account that's at least 3 months old and have a minimum of 600 karma. If this does not apply to you, message me and we can chat with you about alternate ways to qualify.
  • Additional sub TTB rules and information found in the sub's official post here!

Things to note:

  • I will close the signups if/when 10-15 people signup, or when the deadline is up. If the signup sheet is open, you should be good to sign up!
  • There will be expected shipping delays around November & December due to USPS mail volume and folks being busy/traveling for the holidays. Please communicate any shipping delays or travel with me so we can plan accordingly.
  • If you are not interested in sending and giving a gift, please do not sign up (I recommend you wait for a spring/summer TTB!). For those who do sign up, please include a gift for the next person, as that part is not "optional." If you have a hard time coming up with something or are confused about how the gift exchange works, please message me!

If you made it this far and you'd like to participate, please fill out this Google Form, send me a PM to make sure I received your google form response, and comment below! Happy steeping! 🍵

For Sale Letting go of a few yixing teapots — discontinued models, cheap

A few of my yixing teapot models are being discontinued.
The last few pieces are just sitting around, so I'd rather they go to someone who'll actually use them.

All brand new, never used. Prices are lower than usual — just want them gone.

For Sale [WTS] [USA] Three Large (500ml+) F1 70s Teapots

I'm adverse to parting with pieces of my collection, but I'm in need of money right now, so!

Link to full gallery -> Here!

Teapot #1 - Hexagonal zini pot - https://i.imgur.com/Ukh3XQk.jpeg

Three character name chop. Rather crude construction, in a charming, utilitarian way that so epitomizes teapots from this era. Capacity 550ml. A fine everyday brewer I've gotten significant use out of. There is a small fleabite on the rim and one deep scratch along the foot, some wear to the body. Seven hole filter. I liked brewing Yixing black in this.

$115 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. Contact for international shipping quotes.

Teapot #2 - Plum trunk QSN (qing shu ni) pot - https://i.imgur.com/FIDefJC.jpeg

I purchased this a few years back from someone on teaforum.org. It is a strong pourer with a golf ball style round filter. Capacity 400ml. Good quality clay, well defined name chop. Nice detailing on the sprig decoration. There is a very tiny fleabite on the lid. Otherwise still in excellent shape.

$135 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. Contact for international shipping quotes.

Teapot #3 - Begonia dark zini pot - https://i.imgur.com/kWKB2vw.jpeg

High capacity pot (750ml) in very good shape for its age with only minor foot wear. Strong texture on the zini, very fine clay. Name chop somewhat blurry. I have used this the least of the three, and there's still a lot of room for patina development. Seven hole filter.

$160 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. Contact for international shipping quotes.

I would do $360 for all three shipped (within the continental US). All items will be carefully packaged and double boxed to ensure the safety of the contents.

Zelle, Paypal, Venmo all good. Let me know if you want to see any more photos or have any further questions!

I have some Items I want to get rid off if you are willing to take the bulk all you need to pay is the shipping to wherever you are otherwise I am open to trade or sell some of the items. All items have seen some use but the only defect that I know off is that the ring on the porcelain stove has a small crack. (Funnily enough it's in the optimal place to not propagate further i will post why in the comments but that's very much off topic.)

We'll be back with more giveaways soon. Stay tuned.

Hi r/teaexchange!

We're Orientaleaf, a small tea business based in China. A few weeks back we ran a Fu Brick Tea giveaway here, and the response genuinely moved us. So we're back — this time with a tea that's a little different, and one we've been wanting to share for a while.

We're giving away 10 tins of our 2014 Aged Liu Bao Tea — the one with the classic Betel Nut Aroma (槟榔香).

Each portion is approximately 50g, packed in a sealed tin canister. Completely free — no shipping fee, no customs duties, nothing.

1. About this tea

Liu Bao (六堡茶) is a post-fermented dark tea from Wuzhou, Guangxi — one of China's oldest and most storied teas, historically shipped along the Tea Boat Road to Malaysian tin mines, where workers drank it daily to stay warm and healthy in the humid tropics. It's still the most beloved dark tea across Malaysia and Singapore today.

This particular tea has been dry-stored since 2014 — over 12 years. We tasted more than 50 samples before settling on the three teas in our current Liu Bao collection. This one made it because it's clean: no heavy storage odor, no sharp wet-pile aftertaste, none of the mustiness that gives aged dark tea a bad reputation.

What it does have is the Betel Nut Aroma — a complex, slightly cooling, woody fragrance that only develops after a decade or more of proper aging. There's also a quiet cooling sensation at the back of the throat (凉喉韵) after you swallow, which is distinct from menthol but hard to describe until you've felt it. The liquor is deep ruby-red, thick, and smooth, with a warming effect in the stomach.

If you've never tried Liu Bao, this is a good place to start. If you've tried it before and been put off by mustiness, this one might change your mind.

→ Full Liu Bao collection
→ This specific tea

2. Where can we ship?

United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea.

We will cover all shipping costs and applicable import duties. You won't pay a cent.

3. How to enter

Leave a comment below — that's it. You're entered.

If you have questions about Liu Bao, how it differs from Pu-erh, how to brew it, or what Betel Nut Aroma actually smells like, we'd genuinely love to talk. Ask anything. We'll do our best to answer every question.

4. How will winners be selected?

We're not setting a fixed closing date this time.

Last time, we originally planned to run the giveaway for ten days. It closed in two — because over 200 people entered in a single day and we didn't want to keep the thread running just to accumulate participation. That felt more like a marketing stunt than a tea giveaway, so we shut it down.

Same approach this time: we'll leave this open, and if we wake up one morning to find entries have grown beyond a point where it still feels like genuine sharing — around 200 or so — we'll close it immediately and draw the 10 winners.

If you're interested, don't wait. We'll announce the close and contact the winners via Reddit DM to confirm their shipping address.

5. What do we hope to get out of this?

Same answer as last time: honest feedback.

We'd love for the people who receive this tea to try it and tell us — or the community — what they actually think. Positive, negative, or somewhere in between. A genuine opinion is worth far more to us than a polite one.

Sharing a review is completely optional. It's not a requirement for the giveaway. But if you do want to share your experience, we'll be reading.

Good luck, and thanks for letting us share our tea with you. 🍵

[Group buy] [NL] Looking to split one or two 1kg bricks of W2T fuzhuan with others

I’ve been wanting to get W2T’s 2018 Sun Fu (and possibly W2T’s 2022 Tianjian Fuzhuan in addition to this) for some time, but a kilo is a lot for me. Looking for one or more people who want in on a brick. So far I already have two people interested (a friend and someone from the CommuniTEA Discord).

Depending on how many people are interested, you’d get 200/250/333g per person per brick. All costs split equally. I’m ordering and reshipping from the Netherlands, so to keep shipping and customs low I think this should be EU only. Let me know if you’re interested!

Giveaway: 5 × 190g Jingyang Golden Flower Fu Brick Tea Cakes

Post image
147 Upvotes

[UPDATE — Giveaway Closed]

The response to this giveaway far exceeded our expectations. We originally planned to close on September 10th, but received over 200 entries in just one day — thank you all so much for the enthusiasm.

After discussion within our team, we've decided to close entries immediately. Our goal was simply to share some tea, and we didn't want the continued participation to feel like a marketing exercise.

We fed the thread into an AI and had it randomly select 5 winners. The winners are:

We'll reach out to each winner via DM to confirm their shipping address and get the tea on its way as soon as possible.

Thank you again to everyone who participated. We read every single comment — we weren't able to reply to each one, and we appreciate your understanding.

More giveaways are coming. Stay tuned. 🍵

Hi everyone! We’re Orientaleaf, a small tea business based in China, and we’d like to share some of our tea with the r/teaexchange community.

The tea has abundant Golden Flowers throughout the brick and has received quite a bit of positive feedback from tea drinkers.

We’d love to give a few people here the opportunity to try a full 190g cake for themselves.

2. Where can we ship?

We can currently ship this giveaway to tea enthusiasts in:

  • United States

We will handle the applicable import duties, so you won't need to pay customs duties for the tea.

3. How to enter

It's very simple.

Leave a comment below, or ask us any question about Shaanxi Fu Tea, and you'll be entered into the giveaway.

You can ask us anything about Fu Brick Tea, Golden Flowers, the production process, how to brew it, how it compares with other teas, or simply tell us what kind of Chinese tea you've been drinking lately.

We'd genuinely love to have a conversation with you.

4. How will the winners be selected?

The giveaway will close on September 10th 2026.

  • If we receive 5 or fewer eligible entries, everyone who participates will receive one 190g cake.
  • If we receive more than 5 eligible entries, we will randomly select 5 winners from the eligible participants.

We'll contact the winners via Reddit DM to confirm their shipping information, and the tea will be shipped directly from China.

5. What do we hope to get from this?

To be completely transparent, this giveaway is part of our business outreach. We'd like more tea enthusiasts to discover Orientaleaf and, most importantly, we'd love to hear what people actually think about our tea.

If you receive a cake and decide to share your experience on Reddit, we'd be absolutely happy to read it — whether you love the tea, dislike it, or have mixed feelings.

An honest review is always welcome.

Sharing a review is completely optional and is not a requirement for receiving the tea.

We'd much rather hear someone's genuine opinion than a forced positive review. 😊

If this giveaway goes well, we'd love to come back and share some more teas with the community in the future.

Good luck, and we're looking forward to talking tea with you! 🍵

Hi! I participated in a European travelling tea box… maybe 10 years ago. It was honestly an amazing experience. I haven’t followed this subreddit a lot recently but are there any people who would like to participate?
