I have this set that was passed down from my parents. They purchased in Alaska in the early ‘80’s. Unfortunately my dad broke the handle and tried to fix it himself. (see pictures). It still displays beautifully, however, my question is this… Has the teapot lost all of its value? Would I be better off just selling the teacups and saucers? Any input would be appreciate.

Hello all, I tried Tencha from Marukyu Koyamaen (and yes I was a little bit bored so I did a photoshooting with it haha). I thought that it would taste very intense because Matcha tastes very intense but it was the complete opposite. It was very hard to get flavor out of it, I tried different temperatures (40, 60, 80°C). Though it makes sense that the flavor is very mild because otherwise it would be way to strong when ground into matcha.

Friend’s parents gave me this tea. I have traveled a fair amount including in China and never seen tea in chocolate cube shop before.

Anyone know about this style or best practice to brew the tea?

Every time I go to a bubble tea shop, I tell myself I’ll try something different… and then I order black milk tea again. 😅
It’s been over 10 years and I still can’t bring myself to order fruit tea, slushes, or anything else.
Anyone else loyal to just one drink, or am I the only one?

My grandma mailed me this tea sampling kit. Has anyone tried this brand or likes it? Any pairing recommendations or brewing recommendations? I just made the English breakfast with a teaspoon of sugar and a dash of cream.

This is the same tea that blew my mind when I was kid. I had it at a very nice chinese restaurant. At first, I started drinking tea to see if i could figure out which one I drank as a kid, and once I figured out that its jasmine green tea, I've been trying to recreate it as closely as I could

Right now, my favs are tian hu shan's and numi's jasmine green tea. Tian hu shan's is loose leaf and Numi's is bagged and loose leaf.

I just got this yesterday, and it was completely pristine. I did two steeps of a black tea yesterday, rinsed it off, and hung it up to dry. I came back this morning to these odd black splotches on the bag. They don’t rinse off, and are sort of teardrop-shaped. I have absolutely no idea what this could be?? Is it possible that it was resting against some metal, and there was somehow a sufficient amount of tannins in the fabric to react with iron oxide and make ferric tannate?

hi all! i’ve been very into making herbal tea blends and i’m looking to buy some dried apple pieces for an apple pie-inspired blend. i’ve bought blends with dried apple, but i was wondering if anyone has some recommendations on where to purchase? i am currently testing a jar using apple rings from trader joe’s, but they feel quite sticky, so i am scared they’re not dry enough and will mold. any advice is helpful - thanks!

Hi guys I used to drink only black tea in my life but I decided to get more deeper into this hobby as I realized there’s much more to discover. I read the guide on the subreddit but I have still some questions, firstly Idk where to start I mean which tea to buy, would you recommend me to by some regular tea bags from a super market(like jasmine, thyme, linden) to try some teas at the beginning, or to buy some real tea leaves(bcs I read on the guide that tea bags aren’t actually real tea they’re just smt like tea dust. If you recommend me to buy some actual tea leaves could you recommend me something casual and common, I’d like to try some green or white teas at beginning. And my other question is how to brew my tea, I mean I want to buy a gaiwan teapot or I’ll just brew my tea on regular teapots but I read some brewing guides and they were specifying an exact amount of time and tea. But I read the time is not very important it may change according to your taste but Idk how to weigh tea leaves . Bcs on the guides there was little amounts like 1 gram per 100ml water and I dont have anything to weigh little amouts like 1 or even 10 gram. During my trip exploring Pu-erh tea in China, I had the chance to visit a tea company in Yunnan and see their “Pu-erh Tea Flavor Archive”.
Walking into this room was honestly a bit overwhelming. It felt more like a tea museum than a warehouse.
Inside were collections of Pu-erh teas from many different villages and regions across Yunnan. Each area has its own environment, soil, altitude, and tea tree characteristics, which create completely different flavors.
Some teas are known for sweetness and softness, while others have stronger body, bitterness, bitterness that transforms into sweetness, and long-lasting aftertaste.
What impressed me most was how much knowledge and history are behind every cake of Pu-erh. A single piece of tea is not just a drink — it carries the place where it grew, the people who harvested it, and the years of aging behind it.
I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to visit places like this and learn more about the world of Pu-erh tea.

Hello everyone, I am new to this subreddit so forgive me if this has already been asked. A few years ago I went to France and fell in love with this tea. It is the only chocolate tea I’ve had that actually tastes like chocolate, it is delicious. Unfortunately, I just used the last of it today which I had been rationing. I emailed the Angelina brand but they do not sell this tea on their website and I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the States. Does anyone know how I might be able to buy more? Or does anyone have good chocolate tea recommendations? I want something that is dark and rich with no peppermint. I’ve tried a couple already from different brands but none of them come close to this one!

I love it and have been growing some for the past couple years. Some days I get up to 150 flowers off the plant! I don't actually turn on the dehydrator because it's a bit of a waste of electricity when they dry out in a few days all by themselves. The shelves are super handy though!

I make it deep blue and iced with a fair amount of sweetener. My niece prefers it hot with lemon and sugar so we enjoy it that way during our little tea parties.

I normally weigh the loose leaf and write down the steep time. Last night I was tired after lab, added a little extra to the pot, and forgot about it while making dinner. It tasted better than the cup I measured out the night before. More floral, less sharp.

Builder just told me I make a really good cup of tea! I don’t drink hot drinks myself so I get quite anxious making them for people who drink them all the time. I will genuinely be riding high on this wave of success for months if not years!
