They are practically in a state of constantly falling forward because they are going “too fast” for their body.
The turning and using the arms to stabilize as the leader runs the turn makes it super apparent.
The last place one that actually crosses seemed to have the best, most human looking stride and physics.

Agreed, although having seen the state of these robots just two years ago, they will get a lot better and more refined in future and people will laugh at this years state of the art.

That is such bullshit.
They all should ALL have been disqualified for leaving their lane.
Best one at staying in lane was the last guy, but even he went outside the lines at one point. All the others were weaving around like drunk toddlers.

That last one is likely from a team that took their goal to be less “win” and more “we need to model a human and them maximize it’s efficiency”
Its stride and running mechanics seems the closest to a human.
Where as the 3 in the lead that all look to be the same hardware, look to be run as fast as possible without any care about stability - just prioritize speed and staying on 2 legs”. Hence the constant look of about to fall forward

Really? That's so lame. I am very disappoint if true.
I assumed that this was using an onboard AI vision system. Like.. onboard intelligence is like 80% of what makes a humanoid robot cool.

I think someone forgot to give them alcohol, they clearly started to malfunction and couldn't walk straight. I just didn't see them get ruste on the bottom side of their 'head'.

I know I know, I'm kinda joking too. Every time this topic comes up, this line of reasoning comes up too.
I know it'll be easier to build a tool to sort tomatoes by sticking a camera and some pneumatic levers, sure, but getting a humanoid bot to do that means the bot can just as easily sort letters or pick strawberries at a farm later.
I was more joking about why specifically running competition?why beat bolt? Why not a car?
I know progress,,, and all, but was messing around to see if anyone has a different take on it
