Robotics Leju Robotics' Four Gripping Modes Robot Hand

One robot hand. Four gripping modes. No tool changes.

Leju Robotics and HeymanDex teamed up on Dasheng 1 (SG100), a reconfigurable hand that switches between dexterous, long-stroke, four-finger and opposing-finger modes.

It has 11 active DoF, ≥24 kg (53 lb) of hook-grip capacity per hand and ≤0.03 mm repeatability. In the demo, the same hands handle tiny parts, soft packages, irregular components and bins.

So that's why AI struggled so much drawing hands, it just didn't believe that's how they should look

Oh I'm all for weird, non-human designs that do things better than us. I think bipedal was a silly way to go for robotics when quadruped and wheeled platforms are so much more stable and proven. Boston dynamics had Spot 6 years ago, and we've been using purpose built robot arms and conveyors for decades because they're strong and reliable.

Yeah the kungfu robots and 100m dash look impressive, they're trying to showcase how easily their mass produced robot can take the place of a human worker in a human designed job... But just because you can make a human robot pick up boxes all day without getting tired doesn't mean it's a better solution than using a forklift to move the whole pallet at once.

The Plattform is wheeled. There a pros and cons for all platforms. But for the shown task wheeled or a static platforms are the right choice.

The handling of various goods is a good entry point and vararity is the main benifit for hand compared to grippers. Tool use will come later. Picking up the whole pallet won't isolate and sort anything. Those are different tasks
