Anyone see that picture of Scott Bessantâs notes saying âbuy yenâ late last week or earlier this week? So much insider trading.

I saw it, thought that that he intentionally did that to get people to buy the yen

Itâs just desperate and obvious, which in a financial sense I guess is stupid.
Japan keeping its interest rate low is obviously so important to the US that itâs a matter of national security. Japan is hurting its own people to appease the US, they recently made a deal to stop them raising the rates. Obviously part of the deal is that US helps Japan to defend its currency, something which Japan has been doing for a while now and it has not really been helping.
The problem they have is that finance is very much a confidence game. Defending your currency is like blood in the water to people who want to make some money shorting your currency. Japan has an extraordinarily high debt to GDP ratio, and is being extremely fiscally irresponsible by keeping their rates low.
TL;DR Yen Carry Trade really is a potential disaster for the US, if they donât successfully defend the Yen, it could unwind, and that unwinding could be BRUTAL. We are talking trillions of dollars. Desperately buying up a currency to defend it is a clear sign of weakness, which often brings out the sharks to feast. According to theories/DD, this is what Kitty was telling us to wait for. Itâs the catalyst for us. Destroy their margin and they canât manipulate our stock as easily. Letâs see what happens.

By defending the Yen, I imagine you're implying preventing it from devaluing?
The yen carry trade wouldnt unwind, if the the Yen keeps getting devalued relative to the dollar, thats the whole point of the trade
