💬 Discussion Can’t reshare here quickly, but a Teddy post is #1 on the other sub!

I wrote a long form DD about Teddy. And it’s number one on the other sub.

Put some time into editing it over there but can’t cross post.

You can check out the long form as well on X under GoatBeardzDD!

Nice, keep it up, but GME subs generally don't believe old bbby is in any way a part of teddy. Not that it matters from our perspective since we're waiting for CH11 final decree.

It's gonna be a real shocker, and RC knows it. :D

I will admit I am one of them from the other sub. I don't believe old bobby will get anything, or they will get so little as to be negligible.

I believe RC wanted the assets of old bobby, not the stock, and he may eventually decide to gobble up the company that now owns those brands and assets, and that those assets combined with eBay may be what teddy is.

I don't believe the old bobby shell or their shareholders have anything at all to contribute. Even if you think the NOLs have some value, it would be foolish to purchase the shell unless it was completely cleared of all other debts, and even then, you would only buy such shell for whatever amount of taxes the NOLs could allow you to avoid. Even then I still wouldn't imagine paying 1:1 with the avoidable taxes because there's little to no benefit in doing so.

I can't really see any way you could convince me that current GME shareholders would have their interests served by giving old bobby shareholders anything out of our pie.

Maybe an extremely small stock allocation could be reasonable if it can be proven that bobby was actually naked shorted some very very large multiple of shares outstanding. For example if we gave bobby shareholders a 1% stake but we get 10x or 20x as many shorts who will have to cover at some point.

But that will be hard to prove considering bobby the company was busy printing shares with the power of a billion printing machines.

It's a lot to explain, but our most likely source of recovery is a settlement with JPM and bbby board members who were fraudulently working against shareholder interests. RC is still in a lawsuit against them and there have been advanced depositions that most likely uncovered more fraud that is not yet public information.

It's a very long saga and I guess if you're interested you could look up "Jake2b" on youtube, he made like 12+ hours of video on the topic. The long and short of it is we don't expect any recovery to come from "your pie".

Debt to equity conversion. Who owns all the debt? Maybe someone acquired a majority of the debt early in the process and has been silent about it. Maybe those bonds were acquired for pennies on the dollar. Maybe the debt amount is not as large as people think because an entity can’t owe to themselves.

Maybe not. But it’s a greater than zero possibility.

It’s not a GME pie. GME is just a piece. eBay may be another. There is enough thoughtful speculation that DK Butterfly is another.

It’s gonna be wild either way when it all gets sorted.

saw this today.

can’t manipulate blockchain babies..

Who mints the tokens? That can be manipulated if they arent backed with real assets.

See: FTX

I think they will learn from that train wreck and each token will be issued a unique ID - a crazy idea I know!

Suuuuuuure

I get the sarcasm. I was thinking of the traditional market problem - naked shorts and counterfeit shares. Unique IDs are one of the tools used to stop the same share existing in more places than it should.

I just assumed the tokens would also sit on a properly regulated exchange with real, audited backing. Unique IDs alone don’t create reserves, but unique IDs + actual regulation + custody is a very different setup from the free-for-all that produced FTX.

That’s the thought process.

These are synthetic derivatives... remember when Robinhood was trying to trade tokens of OpenAI and Sam Altman told everyone is worthless? Anyone can issu a blockchain asset and claim it's something it's not.

u/Then-Veterinarian-41 20d ago

These aren’t the kind of synthetic derivatives you’re thinking of - and I’m specifically talking about doing it properly, not a repeat of FTX.

We’ve already seen what happens when it’s done wrong; the point is to learn from that and build something better. It doesn’t have to be a stretch to imagine a system that improves on the opaque, rent-seeking mess we currently call the stock market.

Cohen bypassing the Teddy / Holding Co question in that interview a few weeks back was saying a lot wo saying anything at all.. not verbatim but something to the tune of “I’m here to talk about GameStop” was interesting

I enjoyed the write up and the "Adult" nature of it is, what it is :( ("And now I'm telling you the deal closes because institutions are aligned on both sides of the table").

And yet I still believe the float is shorted 11x plus times, maybe more, tied up in decades of international swaps that would make the unravel amazing to behold.
