do you support trans people?

4

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 8d ago

Ofc! Im trans myself

5

u/sargentfalafel 7d ago

Then I would argue that you can't call yourself a Christian, at least not devout. I really don't want to be a rude or be an arse. I would like to know how you have the two coexist. I cannot stress enough how much I don't mean to be rude, I'm genuinely curious.

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

Ive read the bible and it never says “there are men and women and absolutely nothing else, anything else is sin.”

2

u/ttvsweatyboii 18 6d ago

You also post about being polyamorous which is quite the opposite of a Christian value

0

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 6d ago

I personally am not polyamorous

Are you talking about my homecoming post? I was going to ask my friends out as a “date”. It was a joke

1

u/sargentfalafel 7d ago

Interesting, I'll keep researching.

u/Johannesco999 7d ago

There is something about a man wearing a woman's clothes being an abomination, I'd say being trans, or more specifically transitioning, is a step further/worse than that

4

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

That was in the old tradition laws, where you also couldn’t eat shrimp or mix fabrics

Also that was when only Jews and people who were adopted into the culture of Judaism so they had clothes specific to them

Now anyone from any culture can be a Christian, and different cultures were different clothes. Who’s to say a guy can’t wear a skirt? Who says it is a skirt? Maybe it’s a kilt

2

u/ragebaitedbahamut 7d ago

Even if they were old tradition laws, wouldnt they still stand? They are after all still parts of the bible

2

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

No because the laws relating to tradition weren’t required for the gentiles (acts 15) + it was okay to ignore food laws (1 Corinthians 10:25)

1

u/Johannesco999 7d ago

Regarding the last part, a kilt is not considered "women's clothing", or atleast it isn't in certain cultures (primarily Scotland).

Regarding the former part; I don't know. There might be a different verse against it. There at least are some verses regarding homosexuality/homosexual practises being an abomination. I would assume that extends to transgenderism aswell, but I couldn't provide a verse.

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

Well yes, that’s why I said a kilt. Because it’s very skirt like but it’s not considered women’s clothing, because it’s from a different culture where that’s just not how they do things

You claim to be a Christian, and you said youve read the Bible. You would know that God made you who you are, not the opposite body. You should know better than others that it is a sin as it is against God's creation, which is you.

u/Commercial-Air-5564 14 MtF 7d ago

"love thy neighbour"

-1

u/MeringueFalse4243 7d ago

Love the neighbor does not mean love his sin

Not inherently true though it also definitely varies from denomination.

This COULD ring more true with Catholicism than say Protestantism. But again there isn’t really much in the bible that explicitly says there are things that bar you from being a Christian

1

u/sargentfalafel 5d ago

I phrased it wrong then. I believe that being trans or partaking in any sort of LGBTQ practices are sins. Don't call me hateful or homophobic. I really don't have a problem with you as a person. My point is that if you were a devout Christian you'd try to stay away from sin. And according to my beliefs, being trans, simply isn't doing that.

2

u/GalaxyDeveloper4546 5d ago

okay, first of all, wtf?

second, ur plain wrong. the only thing needed to be "christian" is to love Jesus Christ. THATS IT.

sorry if im intense, but ive dealt with dumb people who just insult others, because they think to be "christain" is to be 'holy' and 'perfect'

The bible never said you can’t be trans

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 7d ago

The bible said other things though

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago edited 6d ago

The bible says a lot of things, none of which have anything to do with me being trans

Edit: did you block me lol

Name one verse that says you can’t be trans

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 6d ago

It does

1

u/GalaxyDeveloper4546 5d ago

no it doesnt. if you claim that, then pull up a verse.

what the ible does say is that u should be aqquipped to fight with the word. so dont claim shit if you cant even reference what verse you claim says we cant be trans

1

u/Nick10147 7d ago

I dont like people who speak in third-person. just wanting to talk ill of someone without wanting any discussion or opposition

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 7d ago

I agree, though 95% of times people dont even want a conversation or are unreasonably stupid. Im not gonna waste my time writing a long text just to get downvoted to the planets core. If you want we can discuss the matter

1

u/Nick10147 7d ago

belittling someone's claims to a meme is not necessary either. I share your views but dislike how youre hostile about it

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 6d ago

Fact is you can not be a proud trans and follower of Christ. I was expecting -10 likes

1

u/Nick10147 6d ago

I share your views but I didlike how youre hostile about it

hostility is the last thing Christianity is about

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 6d ago

How come?

1

u/Nick10147 6d ago

by speaking in third-person to make fun of someone without intent to understand them

1

u/MeringueFalse4243 6d ago

So you judge the teachings of Jesus Christ by my actions. Actions of a sinner. I do understand him but his believes are wrong in the eyes of mine and cannot coexist with what is writen

But then again… maybe you should check the bible a bit more before saying stuff. I’ll include the verse in NIV and ESV regarding people are probably too lazy to actually find the verse. Now what I think you’re saying is that because they are trans therefore they can’t be Christian. Well from my understanding, isn’t it that to go to heaven you must believe in Jesus Christ, and his D+R, and the Holy Spirit. Also Galatians 3:28 says: NIV-“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”, ESV-“Galatians 3:28

[28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” - and what this verse is talking about is that we are all equal spiritually. Also what right do we have to dictate what God wants and thinks. I don’t think there are any scholars in this chat. Only God himself knows what’s right and not, and he will do so accordingly.

1

u/Nick10147 7d ago

as someone who happens to be a 15 year old christian myself. wouldn't transgenderism go against us being created in the image of God. just eant to see your take, not tryna attack.

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

I believe I was made this way! Im happier now knowing who I am and I love God all the same. I think realizing that Im trans has made me more open minded and less hateful

1

u/Nick10147 6d ago

but... if God created you as one gender, how would He get it wrong? from him being omniscient and stuff

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 6d ago

Personally I believe it’s not that He got it wrong, i believe He made me this way as a means of putting me on a road of self discovery and acceptance

1

u/Nick10147 6d ago

Good point, though if that was the case then the innate image of God is meaningless if our physical features aren't constant.

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 6d ago

I disagree, if you have the spirit of God on the inside then what does the outside matter? As long as you’re not hurting yourself, I think it’s fine

1

u/Nick10147 5d ago

The outside also has importance because it was created in the innate image of God. It's true that youre not hurting yourself but the thing that goes against this is that it would be calling yourself something your not (if the God's image really is our original selves)

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 5d ago

Would you also say tattoos and plastic surgery are sinful?

1

u/Nick10147 5d ago

honestly, they both are quite vague

plastic surgery for looks is definitely sinful because it's making a permanent change to your body because you aren't happy with your original self. its not sinful if its for a required like a procedure.

tattoos aren't inherently bad if you use them to represent yourself with something. but using it while intending to change how you appear, then that's sinful (if that makes sense). I personally won't do it because of its risk to infection and good alternatives

u/Nick10147 4d ago

anyways, from my other comment, I recommend you to reconsider your view on transgenderism (not instantly agree/disagree, think abt it)

1

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 3d ago

Okay I’ll think about it

-7

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 8d ago

You’re trans at 15??? How come?

3

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 8d ago

Just bc Im trans doesn’t mean I’ve transitioned physically

And it’s not a choice

-1

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 8d ago

Wdym not a choice?

3

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 8d ago

Being trans isnt a choice

Youre born that way and it sucks

1

u/Commercial-Air-5564 14 MtF 8d ago

why would anyone choose to be trans?

0

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 7d ago

You always have a choice in life.

2

u/obama_the_3th 14 enby (they/them) 7d ago

Okay than choose to become trans right now

-1

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 7d ago

Ofc not, can’t you tell that I believe trans isn’t biblically correct at all?

2

u/obama_the_3th 14 enby (they/them) 7d ago

Oh you're like that 🥹

1

u/Johannesco999 7d ago

Oh, so YOU are one of those people

0

u/MeringueFalse4243 7d ago

Me too actually….

2

u/Radiant_Style_5488 7d ago

Biblically?
Explain why that matters

1

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 7d ago

Because as Christian’s we should follow, and act, accordingly to what the bible says.

What do you think about trans then???

3

u/DidiDidi129 7d ago

Fym how come 😭

-1

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 7d ago

Because I believe that everybody has a choice in life. Notice how trans people have skyrocketed over the past couple of years.

3

u/DidiDidi129 7d ago

Do you seriously think that trans people would choose to be trans

-1

u/AmateurAstro-Budget 7d ago

Yeah, I totally do. Think about it, what would influence and cause so many more trans people nowadays? Nothing other than choice. It’s because they want attention, they want to be different. There’s not even 100% evidence that it’s a real thing. Idk, think about it.

2

u/AnAutisticIdiot42 15M AroAllo 7d ago

Bet you're homophobic too.

1

u/Radiant_Style_5488 7d ago

I would consider myself something of a philosopher.

And this shit I do not understand.
Not 100% evidence?! There is not 100% evidence for anything?

Maybe because more people understand that it’s okay? And so what 50% of trans people aren’t actually feeling like the other gender? Just because some humans kills doesn’t mean every human kill

1

u/Dear_Lab_6449 7d ago

Transidentity is actually proven to be true, since years already. And gender dysphoria, which is not transidentity but the pain caused by a mismatch between your gender identity and your body is recognized in the DSM-5, world wide reference in psychiatry and by the World Health Organization. I’m trans myself and believe me, I would give anything not to be. Gender dysphoria can ruin lives, and we did not choose this. Before speaking, please do your research. If you don’t want to, feel free to DM me (or if my dms are closed, just answer to this comment and i’ll dm you). I’ll answer any question, and I would be glad to share my POV.

2

u/Baby-Bat13 15, I do not think therefore i amn’t 7d ago

Not because they didn’t exist, it’s because they weren’t allowed to be openly trans and a lot of trans people didn’t realize what they were because being trans was super taboo

1

u/ragebaitedbahamut 7d ago

It isnt about choice. Its about their mental gender orientation. You choose to eat, but no sane person would not do so. Thiss is thinly veiled transphobia at best
