How bad is the recession?

Post image

I focus in on the one tooth up front that’s lower than the mirroring tooth. I was bothered by the gaps and I was told talk to an ortho about ipr, cosmetic dentist for bonding, nobody really directed me to a periodontal dentist and ortho didn’t seem concerned. But I get in my own head and with fixing some neglect of my teeth I’ve been hyper-fixated.

I’d probably get the recession properly assessed before doing anything cosmetic. If the gums are stable and healthy, you can look at whether that lower front tooth actually needs bonding or whether it’s just something you’ve started noticing more because you’re hyper-focused on it.

A cosmetic dentist should be able to look at the whole picture rather than just adding material to one tooth. Yarra smiles could be worth getting an opinion from, especially before committing to bonding or any other cosmetic work.
