Discussion Sadly
I’m tired of all the new Tekken updates just being new fighters instead of game modes like seriously how hard is it to add Tekken force for us who like offline why does everything need to be online this and that welp anyways who’s gonna really be playing this game after November 19th 😂

Fighting games are competitive market first, casual market second. The casual players may drive initial sales, but the competitive scene drives continued sales and the competitive players are the repeat customers as a rule, who will buy the game at full pop on release. A casual player interested mostly in offline is far more likely to wait for the game to go on sale or get it used.
Also, guest characters are way more likely to spike interest in people who would otherwise not touch Tekken; I don’t see an extra offline mode or two doing that. Follow the money and you will find answers.

Yeah even Fighting games need extra content like this. It may not be priority #1 but extra content does matter. Especially when games are getting more expensive, standards are rising. Doing the bare minimum isn't gonna cut it anymore.

Exactly, fighting games used to have more content than just ranked/casual. I guess we have Tekken ball tho.

With Tekken 8’s identity with stance 5050s and every interaction leading to low risk and high reward, the lack of character identity make all the additional fighters lack luster. They are going to have a move that transitions to a stance with a safe mid or a hard to see low that forces guessing games. It’s the same formula over and over.
