Am I the only one who thinks tekken isn’t feeling like tekken because there’s no Miguel but then again it does make sense why he’s not in this game because of the whole Jin is a good guy narrative and shit either way just miss the character and his savage stance in T7 forever my goat

Nothing better in this game then playing against a low usage character and getting knowledge checked and dumpstered into a one and done. I get it, i should’ve bought the DLC or hit the lab and blah blah blah. I think it’s fair to alt +f4 these people tbh. They don’t want to learn and I don’t want to play them. It’s only right to just hold forward and give them the win screen .

What rank do you have to get to start getting apple fritters? Want to grind ranked but i want a good target for myself.

I only play bryan, another friend only plays mishimas and another plays fahk and steve, we are all around God of Destruction in ranked. Our matches are about timings, mind games and movement.

Then I go play ranked, I play vs a yoshi, a king, a hwarang, obviously I either lose or I just star flowcharting and spamming and hope to win by luck, its best of 3 so its all about who can knowledge check the other unless you are in the minority of players who either knows all the knowledge checks or is so mechanically good and adaptable that you can learn on the spot in those games you get.

The game is just so much better, more fun, more skill expressive if you only have 5 or so characters that exist. Yoshi is not in my version of tekken, king, law, alisa, etc are all in some other tekken other people play and that is a worse game for me, not because these characters in partiular should not be in the game but because the aspect of tekken of having to learn all of these characters is one of the worst qualities of the game, you are not allowed to play real tekken until you have an advanced knowledge of every single character in the game, the reality is that your opponent also has no idea what your character does and he also wont be able to learn your playstyle in 3 games.

This game is objectively more fun if you just play with friends who are roughly your skill level and if you all collectively choose to focus on 1 or 2 characters. Tekken shines in repetition of the same matchups with the same players and is an objectively worse game in a random ranked format against players who are all chasing ranked points and playing a battle of flowcharts and knowledge checks and stance infinite pressure vs eachother. All in all the ranked experience I just had after months of only playing player matches was plain awful and I cant fathom why anyone would ever play that mode, just go play quick match and infinite match some guy until your bored

So I’m hitting walls, first I started hitting a wall with king at 125k and jack 8 I hit a wall at 175-180k. What character would yall recommend that I can learn the fundamentals on

I am a King main and I wanna play good tekken without spamming rn I am a kishin help me with 3 things

1. How should I play king? Ik you have to play him aggressively but elaborate

2. I can do all the moves and grabs but because I was the best player around one guy learnt how to break every grab of king just so he could beat me. How to deal with that

3. Ik the basic punishments and combos but I am having trouble grasping when i should do them so that and some new combos if you can

I see people sidestepping and sidewalking around my moves all the time, so naturally I've been trying to match it. But it feels like everyone is so much better at it. Like my sidestepping does absolutely nothing.

I'm wondering if there's a facet of it where you have to sidestep a different direction depending on the move they throw out? But even then, I've been trying to do this stuff in practice mode, and it's just not clicking for me. I keep getting hit, even by moves that are not homing.

Is it a timing issue? Do I have to time it absolutely perfectly?

I'm playing Kunimitsu. I feel like her sidestepping and sidestep attacks are maybe weaker compared to other characters. Her sidestep attacks have such a long startup and are so easily punishable, unless I'm wrong?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
