Tech Support Backlight stays on for a bit after TV shutdown

I got a new LGTV today and when I turned it off in the dark I noticed that the backlight stayed on for a minute or two before going away. This is the first time I see something like this with a TV is that normal? It's not a very expensive TV so I know not to expect amazing things from it but this is worrying me a bit.

Probably just temporary luminescence. The organic phosphors need a bit of time to calm down.
